What a weekend. Kicked off with my old school @StKillians becoming all Ireland hurling champs. Then @larnefc with a 6-1 win. @IRFURugby back to back 6 nations champs and @ManUtd beating the Scouse “Fergie style”… and the small matter of my @RCSnews FRCS graduation!

Possibly, (probably!) my last ever day of working @BucksHealthcare, Where I’ve spent more than half of my career as a doctor. The place I was inspired to become a surgeon and where that aspiration was nurtured by supportive seniors. Special to me for more than the Paralympics!

@SinhaSanj Absolutely true. Often those who shout loudest about being fantastic educators or are in educational positions are those who are least supportive in the training environment. Others like @sgappleton and @OxfordSofS practice what they preach!

In my experience, some of the worst trainers I've had have, ironically, been in the highest positions of surgical training and education within the Trust, Deanery and even College. Whereas, some of the best have been the quiet, modest surgeons who avoid the limelight

I misjudged it, it was right in front of me and I didn’t see it. Should have acted sooner. My 14 yr old is now in a hospital bed with a likely #COVID related complication. Thanks to all @Leic_hospital for just the most compassionate care.
