@witchfell Very interesting to see this technique you developed! Btw your discord link in bio is expired when I tried it.

Hey y'all, another gamedev log, this time on inputs. I'm going hands first with this VR game, something about playing without controllers seems right for a magic themed game? Which team are you, hands or controllers?

I'm unreasonably happy about this, but I'm a video game artist so bear with me: I wrote a dev server for my WebXR game, and now I can: * hotkey export blender to glb, which live patches into the running game * edit textures, which hotpatch OVER the loaded glb ones! #threejs 🤯

@hasan_tarhann Tricky question! Your base premise suggests that being a little loose and subject to the whims of the wind is the character's vibe, but players will hate you if they can't do precisely what they intend to do... You're going to have to craft the player goals really carefully!

I’m trying to capture the feeling of wind carrying you forward, without taking control away WIP, but movement is starting to feel really satisfying Would you prefer it to feel smooth and floaty, or a bit chaotic and risky? #madewithunity #indiegame #leafborn

@tol__is Ugh, the little event notifications drifting away from a gently drifting balloon is so obscenely aesthetically pleasing.

@techartist_ Very nice! Next step: add labels for parts of the cell you're looking at, will clickable description panels. Both what you'd need for class, and a great excuse to do swooshy scifi UI :)

What if biology class looked like this? An interactive cellular visualization of procedurally generated biological forms with particle dynamics, shape morphing, organic motion and shader-driven effects.

@doomspoons That looks fantastic, but the things kids these days call low poly... it's enough to make an old timer like me 😭

VR graphics is such a weird space. Some staples like blurring and post effects are too expensive performance wise to use, and everything needs to hold up to stereo viewing. Here's me trying to put together a decent VR flame effect! #vr #gamedev

@DM_Arts_ The vast majority of art isn't worth it... but that's never stopped us from making it :) It's lovely, and you should be proud of having made it.

I spent 108 hours in Blender on this animation, was it worth it?

Hey y'all. I'm making an isekai anime inspired VR game and I'm sharing the process to build an audience. Here's the first devlog, just a hello world from inside the game. Does this kind of thing appeal to you? #vr #indiegame

Noise is used everywhere in games: terrain, animations, camera shake, and more. But it can still feel like magic. How do you turn greyscale blobs into real effects? Here are a few practical ways to use it. #threejs #shaders
