@Uber I tend to drink quite heavily, and I don’t really like strangers. Would that be a problem?

@Anthony23Bryant We all no the type the same type who went straight on to the point of rank at Victoria bypassing the feeder rank then going into a hissing fit when he was the error of he’s ways no self control the 20 MPH speed cameras will be there demise

You can tell it’s a quiet night when another driver steals a job almost alongside the rank. Cab Reg: LO72NPX Badge No: 80705 He reckoned there’s no rank in Frith Street. The rank has been there far longer than he’s been a cab driver.

@TinaSuSe I’ve been skiing for many years. I’ve yet to learn of someone crashing into another skier and deliberately making a hasty exit. Skiers, it would seem, have more decorum than many cyclists.

@AStrangerJ Very sorry to hear that. Really not on. What do you mean by 'traceable' though - number plate? Guess you need one when skiing though, too. Where's the end - when will pedestrians get number plates because there's some irresponsible numpties out there who will sadly always exist.

Just heard from the garage. It’s going to cost me £540 to put this right ffs. Cars pose the greater danger to life & limb, but it’s obvious that bikes also need to be insured in cases like this. Why should I have to once again carry the cost, I did nothing wrong.

Cyclist clattered into the back of my stationary cab just now…..and f*cked off before I could catch hold of him. Just been told it could cost upwards of £300 to fix. These f*ckers need to be made traceable/identifiable asap. 😡😡😡

I was hit by a cyclist today who then rode off. If I were to have grabbed him but he refused to give me his details, what options would I have, bearing in mind I wouldn’t want to lose my badge. Serious question btw👍

@tsuk78639968 Any profits could be put back into cycling infrastructure or training. I really can’t see an insurmountable downside. It’s not right that inexperienced or irresponsible cyclists can ride around with impunity. Some level of accountability is needed.

@tsuk78639968 It wouldn’t be as problematic as cyclists make out. People could buy a uniquely numbered, colour coded bib each year, which comes with insurance. They needn’t cost very much. Buy them online, shops or vending machines. Discounts if a cycling proficiency test is passed.

@AStrangerJ Happened to me once. I picked up his bike & locked it in my cab. Walked him to a cash machine & got £50 from him

@BobbyJokerjam @SmashMouth30 To argue against it, citing barriers to entry, is pure nonsense. Common sense should be the priority, not abdication of responsibility.

@SmashMouth30 Thank you Doc, that’s much appreciated. Too often we see knee-jerk defence of cyclists on here, by others loathe to be seen to criticise fellow enthusiasts. There must be hundreds, if not thousands of other such incidents every day. It’s very unfair.

@walshswalls No, I’m fine Mate, thanks. All I felt was a little bump, and then saw him turning around in the rear view mirror and pedalling away. He was halfway down Connaught St by the time I was out of the cab

@CabaxiMark Yeah, saw that. I need to check to see if it will fit my 2020 plate and then find out if it’s a pain to fit. I’ll know more tomorrow 👍

@ComplyQVM @thebarkingtweet @AndyCoxDCS There’s more chance of the cyclist being overcome with guilt and tracking me down in order to make good than him replying. Cyclists can do no wrong in his book.

@ComplyQVM @thebarkingtweet I’d be more inclined to go through the Small Claims Court than the Met. Still, without positively ID’ing them…..🤷🏼‍♂️
