E-bikes - with pedal assist with speed & power limited by law - are legal and a great way to travel around London. Illegal electric motorbikes - with much more power, speed & weight and with an auto throttle - are a dangerous menace. Good to see the police taking action.

London’s newest cycle lane: Shaftesbury Avenue. We’re busy expanding our network of Cycleways across the capital to make it safer for people to travel by bike. And cycling has soared, now there are an average 1.5m bike journeys every day. 🚲📈🚲📈🚲📈🚲📈🚲📈🚲📈

New separated cycle lanes popping up on Shaftesbury Ave. All it takes is political will + the removal of some unnecessary parking spaces. London is becoming a cycling city, reflecting a generational shift that recognises driving in urban areas as slow, inefficient use of time.

2 days in Central London this week. What did I learn? London is doing a great job of making it easy to ride bicycles. Hire bikes are a great way of getting around, you’ll move faster than the traffic and see many of the iconic tourist sites on your way to your appointment.
