As a proud Northerner, Typical Aboki , I stand with Davido. A southern artist, Davido, stood on an international stage carrying the names of kidnapped children from Nigeria, while many of Arewa celebrities voices remain silent as insecurity continues to devastate northern Nigeria. Where is the outrage? Where is the pressure? Where is the kishin Arewa? For years, our people have buried loved ones, paid ransoms, abandoned farms, & lived under fear. Yet some celebrities in the North & political loyalists seem more comfortable defending those in power & the kidnappers than demanding protection for the lives and & property of ordinary northerners. Abin kunya ne. Davido used his global platform to spotlight a humanitarian crisis. That is what many of our public figures should have been doing all along. Speaking for victims is not opposition politics. The people of Arewa deserve peace. They deserve safety. They deserve leaders and influencers who will stand with them, not just with power. History will remember who spoke up and who looked away.

Not understanding English does not make someone illiterate. English is simply a language. Those from Northern Nigeria who mock Rarara as illiterate because of his English should know that he has memorized the entire Holy Qur'an. On that basis, calling him illiterate is inaccurate. If you have memorized the entire Holy Qur'an, then you are more knowledgeable than many people around you who have not memorized it. You are mistaken as a Muslim if you call someone who has memorized the entire Holy Qur'an illiterate just to impress non-Muslims or seek their approval. Only Muslims can relate to this post.
