Well folks, it's been a good run but it's time to move to a platform that is not owned by an overt Nazi. Feel free to follow where the skies are bluer. (bencook)

@AlexMonahan100 if I only place EV bets when the "chance to hit" is say 49% or higher, does that mess up the model? Or does it just give fewer opportunities per day?

Yes, I’m complaining about a quid pro quo.

@Jeff_Eager Read the room man, your party is an organized crime family and you're complaining about a quid pro quo?

SBF gave $500k of that to Dem Party of Oregon in ‘22, facilitated and directed by then Senate Finance Chair Ron Wyden (D-OR), through straw man/FTX exec Nishad Singh. Wyden pressured Biden SEC etc to be nice to FTX. My FEC complaint pending since 6/2023. Details in reply.
Bruce Fenton@brucefenton

Reminder: SBF stole $70 million of client funds and gave it to democrats. He gave $10 million to Joe Biden and had unprecedented access to Gary Gensler who discussed giving him an SEC no action letter while Gensler’s former student and former general counsel (who then became SBFs general counsel) were present. There was no investigation, campaign finance violations or charges related this.

@chris_volmer @rockhoundzs @father_tiresias You seem to be engaging in good faith but have you ACTUALLY looked at the data? You're dismissing data points (wealth concentration) because they don't fit your preferred narrative. Look at things like wage or wealth growth during times of high wealth concentration.

@KarlMarxsux @iowahawkblog Such flimsy grounds as... his own statements, his avowed beliefs, his vocal support of ADL, his support for Nazis on this platform AND an overt Nazi gesture? Yeah what a wobbly case.

That Musk salute sure seems kind of fascisty, but in fairness so does a mob of masked campus cretins marching through the Upper East Side chanting death to Jews

@darth_devo @iowahawkblog You realize the premise of this thread is "That Musk salute sure seems kind of fascisty" right?

@BenjaminCook @iowahawkblog "Call me crazy ..." You're crazy. Any sane, decent, rational person can watch the video and see it was an awkward gesture made by a guy known to be on the autism spectrum in a moment of excitement. Between "you're crazy" and "Elon's a Nazi", "you're crazy" makes the most sense.

@iowahawkblog That's a debatable answer to a question that wasn't asked. Call me crazy but the world's richest man who has considerable influence on POTUS being a Nazi seems pretty bad.

@JonahDispatch You mean the thing where he does the gesture (looking rather angry) both directions and then after that says my heart goes out to you? I mean it’s not like he has a history of supporting Nazis, right?

The thing at the 55 second mark, where he grabs his chest and says "my heart goes out to you" is supposed to be a deliberate Nazi salute? Sorry, not buying it.

@tonynwright @Apple @Googlr I’m sure their legal departments are telling them differently. And I’m not sure what political motivation you’re reading into it. President Trump called for the law, Republicans passed it, and Google donated a million bucks to the inauguration.

Technically that's true. Reality is quite different. It's essentially legaluntil Congres or SCOTUS determine if the president has the authority to change an existing statute. Apple and Google can list TikTok in their app store without consequence. Failing to do so may appear politically motivated, which would be disappointing to me.

@tonynwright @Apple @Googlr Despite the explosion of executive orders in recent administrations, that’s not how the law works.

I'll be 60 this year and I wanted to see if I could pass these 7 fitness tests. 1. Run a mile in under 10 minutes ✅ 2. Squat your own bodyweight ❌ No squat rack at home so can't say yes. 3. Farmer carry your bodyweight for 2 minutes ❌ I only had 50 lb weights but didn't feel difficult. 4. Complete 5 unbroken chin-ups/pull-ups ✅ Wide grip. 5. Being able to do the sit and raise test ❌ Total failure and don't recall ever being able to do this. 6. Complete 25 unbroken pushups ✅ I do pushups near daily. 7. Dead hang for 1 minute ✅ I love doing these. I am determined to figure out sit/stand since he says it's a predictor of longevity.

As I wrote in a guide to surviving demagoguery 8 years ago, if you favor Trump or some of his policies and support him in good faith, make a list of things now you would be disappointed if he did or did not do. Try to keep yourself honest if you can. Don’t join a cult.
