Most people in Web3 gaming talk about growth. How many could take over a project with: • A dead meme token • A simple pixel shooter game • No marketing budget • Minimal player base • No token allocations …and actually turn it into something that grows? At Memeland Mayhem, that’s exactly what I stepped into. And what came out of it: • 700%+ growth in social presence, engagement, and players • Increased user LTV while reducing operational costs • A fully rebuilt growth and LiveOps system from the ground up The shift wasn’t about spending more; it was about operating differently. We shifted from a grind-heavy model to an event-driven system and built: → Pop-culture themed events and content that gave players a reason to come back → Cross-IP collaborations that drove organic distribution → A gamified marketing layer that turned events into a user acquisition engine → Competitive systems for guilds, communities, and creators → A bi-weekly community podcast for AMAs, market insights, and clear CTAs Instead of chasing users, we built loops that made them stay, engage, and recruit others. We were 2–3 months away from rolling out meaningful monetization with a version 2 of the game built on Godot when funding was abruptly pulled after the October 10th crash. From there, we attempted a full token relaunch with a highly compressed timeline and no budget. Against the odds, the sale was gaining traction… until the market nuked less than two weeks before TGE. Different timing, different outcome. But the systems worked, and that’s what matters.

I can't argue with you there 😂💯 Big difference in Web3 compared to traditional crowdfunding is ownership, something that more resembles equity (if done right ofc). More relevant to small indie studios who can't find traditional funding, the bigger players shouldn't use this stuff as a funding source. But yea your def right, the majority of the gaming tokens we've seen after 2021 have been money grabs with shit tokenomics. I think that's why we saw a meme cycle but no gaming cycle. Memes don't even have products but it works because the launch is more fair. It's mostly controlled by insiders lol but the retail investor has a chance to get those insane gains. In gaming, we've seen VC money price out retail gains so people don't have the chance to get their sick gains that drive more visibility, investment, and community retention. Stuff has been getting better imo. VCs won't touch Web3 gaming rn so projects will have to do stuff the right way or fade away. We will get there eventually lol

crowdfunding is a proven, working, successful model look at patreon and kickstarter for example web3 games are not following this model - they are selling in-game tokens meant to be earned by players to VCs at extremely low valuations to dump on the heads of players that purchase tokens because they believe they are "purchasing ownership" of the game when in reality most tokens are vaporwave memecoins ESPECIALLY gaming tokens

Gamers always push back on new monetization in AAA and usually for good reason. But the models that survive follow a clear pattern: Reject → Refine → Normalize → Standardize Web3 will take longer due to complexity + broader stigma… …but the upside of onchain economies and crowdfunding models is too strong to ignore. It’s not “if”, it’s "how" it evolves 💪

web3 gaming will never work because gamers hate crypto and will never touch anything crypto related (they are stubborn)

I agree, changing the core loop would be risky and probably not the best use of resources Leaning into premium tournaments makes a lot of sense. Maybe use a % of the entrance fees to reward the organizers to incentivize them to promote + scale events organically 🤓 What would be really cool: A marketplace to rent Axies for tourneys for a % of the prize pool (eSports rev-sharing) When you sign up for a tournament and select your team, a "rent" tab could pop up to use listed Axies This would open the door for: • A lot more players able to participate & compete in events without needing to constantly spend money chasing the meta. • Infinite possibilities for themed tournaments since everyone would have access to a large library of Axies. • Provide additional utility for Axie holders and breeders to potentially make some passive income. Win-Win-Win 😎

The beauty of Axie Classic is that it's like Chess meets Poker. Timeless. Good for tournament formats. Further development is a nice novelty but the core format should be preserved.

Is @AxieInfinity genuinely planning to develop Classic, or is it just being used to drive engagement? I’d personally love to see it grow while keeping its core mechanics intact, instead of a full overhaul like Origins. What do you all think? 🤔

Changing mechanics would be tricky. What if there was a test server to try out different mechanics with community play tests. Then ultimately have the community vote on whether stuff gets officially added. As far as expansion goes, I liked the concept of the guild wars but it was way too grindy. I think as an industry we should be trying to make games less time consuming and more skill based. The most logical route would be adding some risk to earn stuff, p2p wagering for tokens, axie pink slips, or the losers Axies get burned. Something along those lines lol

Is @AxieInfinity Homeland still being developed? I always thought Homeland could’ve been the economic backbone of the entire Axie economy A gamified, rev-share RTS layer Think @MegaCryptoPolis × Civilization Where: • Key structures = ownership of on-chain systems (breeding, rune/charm minting, etc.) • Fees flow back to players who own & maintain those structures • Building taxes fund RNG events (fires, disasters, etc.) with lottery-style payouts to service structures • Schools that train Axies into higher-efficiency workers for advanced buildings • Barracks that militarize Axies to defend/attack resource nodes, trade routes, or raid competitors Land becomes an operating business with a service economy, real incentives, and layers of strategy tied to real value 😎

Ever wonder what life would be like if you didn’t know anything about crypto/markets/etc? Took my kids to the park this morning and I don’t think a single other parent there knew the price of bitcoin or that oil spiked 3% overnight or dollar debasement or the yen carry trade or any of the million other things we’re constantly checking/monitoring. Feels like a blissful ignorance might be a peaceful (even if a bit boring) existence? Idk. Not really sure how you ever go to that once you’ve seen this side of things, but it feels like maybe ppl on that side are pretty satisfied with their lives
