New Editor Commentary: Does Ohio House Speaker Matt Huffman hate public schools? I'm genuinely asking. He very well might not hate public schools. But as an observer, it really comes off like Matt Huffman hates public schools.

Everyone wants to blame the insurance company, but this doesn't make them wrong. We need more info.
Is there clinical data/reasoning supporting using 35 doses as opposed to 28?
I don't know anything about radiation. But in pharmacy I see tons of instances of patients getting upset at their insurance for refusing to pay for things when I completely agree with the insurance. Doctors jump to expensive medications all the time when there is no justification for doing so.
If insurances just automatically paid for whatever the doctor ordered the costs for everyone would go through the roof. Denying unnecessary treatments is actually extremely important.
Now, is the original OPs treatment unnecessary? Again, I have no clue. My point is I won't put blame on the insurance unless there is clinical justification for doing so. "The doctors recommends it" isn't that.
English

I’m at a cancer treatment center getting my 27th dose of radiation. My doctor recommends 35. @UHC refuses to pay for more than 28. I’ve fought them for weeks to get full treatment approved. This is my Hail Mary to hopefully get them to reconsider.
English

Just in case anyone is confused about why CEOs are getting shot in the street.

@ohiogop @ChairmanAlex I gotta ask - do you guys laugh as hard writing the “lead Ohio forward” stuff as we laugh reading it?
I mean, we laugh pretty hard.
English

OFFICIAL: @ChairmanAlex and Ohio’s 17 Electors have certified the state’s election results.
The message from Ohio voters is clear—President Trump and JD Vance will proudly lead the Buckeye State forward.

@CREWcrew They made Jimmy Carter sell his peanut farm. Just sayin'.

@FITFUNFREE @AaronParnas Any paradigm shift we attempt will be bought and co-opted by the wealth class.
Taking about it is like talking about unicorns. They'd be lovely to have around, but they just ain't real.
English

@BrettPransky @AaronParnas can never happen ? why ? that's limited thinking
the US is the only developed country that doesn't provide health care to its citizenry
yes it would require a complete overhaul and a paradigm shift but it has been done. successfully & would eradicate what's ailing us
English

We should not be justifying murder. It's that simple.
Olivia Julianna 🇺🇸🦅🗳️@0liviajulianna
Less than a month ago people were pointing out the dangerous radicalization of young men and now there are people praising and idolizing one who shot someone dead in broad daylight. Justification or not— do you see what you’re doing?
English

@FITFUNFREE @AaronParnas You are absolutely right.
It's a quandary. The system will never change on its own, but changing it means knowingly doing wrong. How much wrong can we tolerate to get the specific ends we must have?
I have no idea.
English

@BrettPransky @AaronParnas again you misunderstand me, I claim no high ground
you asked (or implied) about a potential solution w in the game we have I tried to provide one
when a corp's mandate is to generate profit in health care the sacrifices are always paid by suffering
imo
English

@FITFUNFREE @AaronParnas Talking about the necessity of a thing that can never happen is futile. We need to talk about what can happen, and how. I'd rather direct action be less violent, but fixing this through the means we have available is legislative masturbation, and everyone in power knows it.
English

@FITFUNFREE @AaronParnas This is all good stuff ... but none of it will ever happen using conventional or political means. Do you see us ever amassing the power necessary to move our political system against the wealth class?
Never going to happen.
English

@BrettPransky @AaronParnas that would require having people in power w conscience & integrity - so off the bat we have the wrong people in leadership for that
I certainly don't have all the answers but I know FOR SURE no one in this admin has the intent to do the 'right thing' except for themselves
English

@FITFUNFREE @AaronParnas I wonder if you stay on the high ground if your insurance company sent you home to die when they had the ability, but not the will, to save you.
Happens to hundreds every day. That's why there's little outrage over this crime. Murdering a murderer is still murder, but only just.
English

@FITFUNFREE @AaronParnas It's called utilitarian calculus. What is the greatest good for the most people?
Again, I don't agree with the crime. But I do understand that conditions exist in which this can happen, and ignoring those conditions to clutch pearls over the outcome is a bit ... too simple.
English

@BrettPransky @AaronParnas math is the math ... sounds like some fancy tap dancing to justify cold blooded murder
I don't know exactly what the CEO did - but you & I know corp entities do things daily that have these kinds of outcomes - right ? of course not. but I don't want others taking up arms
English

@FITFUNFREE @AaronParnas Last thing:
"there isn't a person alive having dealt w an insurance company (of any kind) that's not been frustrated beyond understanding"
What about the thousands upon thousands of people the insurance companies killed? Can't really ask about their frustrations now, can we?
English

@BrettPransky @AaronParnas there isn't a person alive having dealt w an insurance company (of any kind) that's not been frustrated beyond understanding ... but we don't become cold blooded killers
the 'free him' trending is a dangerous mindset - more so than not 'understanding' his frustrations
English

@FITFUNFREE @AaronParnas There is the game we would like to play, and then there is the game that exists. We need to play the game that exists.
English

@FITFUNFREE @AaronParnas Why not?
I'm not asking to be a smart ass. Really think about it. That CEO kills hundreds of people every week, maybe every day. Killing him is wrong, but the math is the math.
I don't condone. But I don't condemn. He was wrong, but he probably saved lives.
English
