Don’t wait until later or tomorrow to do it — it’s just too easy to forget. Voter registration deadlines in states across the country are coming up soon, and your voice deserves to be heard this November!

Let’s mention some tips:
1. Very few intubations are really “crash” ones. Use the time to optimize yourself, the patient and the environment
2. Pre-oxygenate almost everybody with NIV. Use common sense and the PREOXI trial findings
3. Use waveform capnography (not colorimetric)

My brother had a nasty concussion about 20 years ago & I was intrigued by how he kept saying the same things over & over.
My stepdad was called at the scene of my accident by a bystander & he told me I did the same thing and kept repeating these things like 15 times.

At this point, my clinical practice is per diem. After I get sign out, I go & I write down on my list the names of the nurses assigned to which patients, the unit secretary, the respiratory therapist, and our patient tech who helps us in so many ways. Relationships matter.

I’ve made it a habit of writing down the nurses names and room numbers on the top of my rounding list so I can call people by names (when there are people I am less familiar with)
