No you don't have to be a tactical genius to be a good and successful coach... I watched Brian Clough,SAF,Gus Hiddink,Carlo Ancelotti,Zidane,Harry Redknapp,Sir Bobby Robson,John Toshak,Kenny Dalglish, Othmar Hitzfield,Marcelo Lippi,George Graham,Vincente Del Bosque etc... The names listed above are some of the most successful coaches in Europe and coached the best teams and they are not known to be tactically astute but for their marvelous and impeccable man-managemt. Again like i always say,these generation of football fans only thinks the overtly tactical coaches make the best or successful coaches.
