One of the worst conventions in British politics is the passing of radical social policy as private members bills. Allows governments to pass laws without the requisite scrutiny. Just awful.

You have to be sick in the head to be proud of legalising infanticide. I was born 10-12 weeks prematurely in 1971. My mum was told I would die in the incubator, or be stunted and handicapped. Though blind in 1 eye, I am six foot one, a Professor at Cambridge, and glad to be alive

Council have replaced all the lights on my street from bulbs to LED. Instead of adapting the existing poles they’ve put in new poles with the LEDs and left the old ones. So now there are two poles, one permanently switched off.
