Jolyon Maugham vanished from Bluesky without fanfare on July 15. He had already deleted his X account. The timeline is interesting. 8 July- Amnesty publish its immediately excoriated report which sought to do harm to the reputations and finances of a number of lawful and respectable groups who are sceptical of gender identity 11 July - suspect arrested in murder of Ann Widdecombe who was hit 21 times with a hammer 13 July - Amnesty withdraw its 'anti rights' report 14 July - Good Law Project withdraw and apologise for its 'Monster' billboard campaign 21 July - Maugham's defence to my libel claim due 22 July - criticism of Bash Back by Lord Walney as 'sinister, violent, and particularly disgusting'. (Maugham gave public support to this group in April 2026 calling them 'legitimate' and 'inevitable'. ) It would be very interesting to see the correspondence to and from the Good Law Project and @AmnestyUK

It must be true, that Amnesty genuinely could not comprehend the risk it was taking. Otherwise it would not have done this. It risks its existence. But why not? Why is this and so many other organisations apparently unable to engage their brains on this issue?

We’re thrilled to see Genspect mentioned in the @washingtonpost by @andrewdoyle_com who explains the details of the @amnesty debacle “Genspect, has pointed out that the suggestion that it “engages in conduct that could be considered unlawful or akin to unlawful practice” is both “exceptionally serious” and demonstrably false.”

But interesting that JM claimed such close kinship with CB - I remember her visiting the Bristol Civil Justice Centre and being treated with such reverence by the DFJ that it made me uneasy. I suspect they shared similar character traits which can curdle if given too much adoration.

@SVPhillimore We need to stop anyone being able to change their original birth certificate in order to achieve clarity in support of the law.

It’s genuinely sad if anyone seriously believes they are going to be attacked for using an accessible toilet but this is the narrative that has been sold. And single sex toilets in workplaces are mandatory in any event. Guidance not relevant!

Because not all females give birth but only females can. It is an exclusively female activity. This doesn’t mean women must give birth. But men never, ever can.

@nitnatxc_ It isn’t. It’s about having the body that is designed to give birth, whether you do or don’t.

It’s not. Some women can’t and some women don’t want to. They all remain women. But only women give birth. This is relevant and important as it means all women have the same type of body: one that is smaller, weaker and slower than the majority of male bodies, one that makes them vulnerable to sexual and physical assault from men. So sex is real and it matters. It must be recognised and protected where relevant.

Why does it matter that humans are divided into categories of male and female? Because sex is real and it matters. Historical and current oppression of women is because of their sex, when sex matters it really matters and women have a right to single sex female spaces for their safety and dignity. Because sex is immutable - no one can change sex and children should not be encouraged into serious and irreversible medical and surgical interventions on a lie that they can change sex. Because the group that benefits in claiming it’s all irrelevant are men.

It’s in project 2025. The goal is to force women and men back to traditional gender roles. I recommend reading it.

Can anyone explain why, if trans people experience severe distress in a body that doesn’t match their gender expectations, that a woman wishing to be a man, wants to do the most obviously female thing ever? The President of the Family Division raised issue of fraud when McConnell was simultaneously pursuing fertility treatment at the same time seeking a GRC to say she was a man. Why wasn’t this pursued?

Very little did from the Kids Company CC judicial review they backed, including no order for costs
