@PaulTassi They said they were pitching more projects in the Destiny universe in the meantime Do you think it's possible we could get some kind of Borderlands like co-op spinoff? Or maybe even a single player game?

@broodwars64 @iTzNikeBro @Wario64 Because the reason live services are dying is because they can't attract players. Destiny already has a fanbase literally waiting for the next big thing. The only reason the player counts fell so harshly after The Final Shape is because they stopped commiting resources to it.

Bloomberg: Bungie planning significant layoffs following end of Destiny 2 development. Destiny 3 is not in active production. Bungie staff are pitching and prototyping new projects, including in the Destiny franchise, but none have been greenlit bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

@NowOnAFM @ManaByte Where did I suggest that? Keep Marathon going now, by all means, but if it is still struggling by the time Destiny 3 is ready? Shut it down and have all hands on deck for Destiny to make it the best live service it can be. We already know that's a recipe to print money.

If Bungie doesn’t reveal a new Destiny this summer, the studio is going to shut down before the end of 2027.

@EpicNNG @D2Revenant Fair enough. Nothing is perfect for everyone so I get that. You're right too that Destiny 2 would've collapsed even sooner though if The Final Shape was at all similar to Lightfall. Was so anxious it was going to be bad after that disaster of an expansion.

@Darlectro @D2Revenant Yeah I'm aware. I'm fine with it, too. I disliked the final shape story a lot tbh. I'm glad it hit for others though, last thing they needed was another Lightfall situation.

Destiny 2 is basically ending. This is the correct call. It should've ended years ago with Witch Queen leaving us on a cliffhanger until D3. Here's hoping that they finally put their focus on a Destiny 3, and we can get back to playing every day again.

Read the full blog at bung.ie/d2_may_21_2026 For almost twelve years, we have had the joy and honor to explore the Destiny universe with you all. Through all the ups and downs, surprises and triumphs, building Destiny alongside our players has been a monumental privilege. While our love for Destiny 2 has not changed, it has become clear that after The Final Shape, we have reached the time for our shared worlds, and Destiny, to live beyond Destiny 2. As our focus turns towards a new beginning for Bungie, we will begin work incubating our next games. To that end, on June 9, 2026, we will release the final live-service content update for Destiny 2 to begin that new journey as a studio. Though active development may be concluding, we will ensure that Destiny 2 remains playable, just as the original Destiny is today. Many changes in this final update will aim to ensure that Destiny 2 is a welcoming place for players to return to. We’re proud of Destiny 2, the places it took us, and the legacy it has created. Because of you all, our universe is vast, built on years of shared stories, adventures, and victories. From the Cosmodrome to the Pale Heart to the Lawless Frontier, we have forged life-long memories and friendships with you all. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made that journey with us. From the deepest part of our hearts, thank you, and we'll see you in the stars.

@NowOnAFM @ManaByte Nope. If it has to be between Marathon or a Destiny 3, then Sony would be fools not to choose Destiny 3. Again, a new single player IP is more of a gamble and will straight up make less money than a new Destiny live service, just not worth the risk for Sony.

@Darlectro @ManaByte I disagree. They cannot juggle two live service games in the same time. They’re already stuck with Marathon. Sony shut down most of their live service projects & Bluepoint got the ax after a failed GoW live service. If they go for another Destiny, it has to be single player.

@D2Revenant I personally much preferred the idea of the Witness being a symolization of Armageddon, and us going into D3 basically knowing that the world is ending, or at least we think it is. I did not like how they handled him both in Lightfall and also Final Shape

@PolishTamales Destiny 3 is a guaranteed hit if they actually invest the money into developing it. If Sony just calls it quits now and tanks all the losses then they're even more stupid than I thought.

Bungie Could Shut Down Before Destiny 3 Ever Launches 🚨🚑🚒 Unless Destiny 3 has really been in active development since the Covid era, its announcement changes nothing. Marathon was a commercial disaster when you factor in its massive production costs and the ongoing expenses required to keep it alive. A $765 million impairment loss isn’t something you can just shrug off and ignore in the equation. Bungie is running out of time, and I seriously doubt Sony wants to dump another half a billion dollars into yet another live-service title after so many have already failed.

@NowOnAFM @ManaByte Nah. Destiny is the only path. It has an established fanbase and it's easier to win people back with a sequel to a previously hugely successful franchise than to gamble on a new single player IP. Plus, live services straight up make more money and Sony wants return on investment.

@ManaByte I would not pitch a new Destiny if I were them. This is a make it or break it moment. All hands on deck for a single-player experience. Marathon bombed. Live service games are not gaining traction.

@KissItAndWink @PaulTassi If anything, this is going to harm Marathon. The Destiny players that were playing Marathon because it was more Bungie content which I can't imagine being a small portion of the playerbase, a large portion of those people are going to stop playing Marathon out of spite.

@PaulTassi Announcing D3 now would cannibalize what they’re trying to do with Marathon. They killed Destiny 2 so people would have no other options. If you want new Bungie content, you need to shut up and play Marathon like a good dog

Update on the Senedd laptops. The reason why all 96 Senedd Members get their second £2,000 laptop is because we aren't trusted to remember to bring our first £2,000 laptop into the chamber with us for plenary. As far as I'm aware, that's it. That's all the second laptop is there for. When I was in the private sector, if you couldn't be trusted to bring your work laptop into key meetings, you'd be fired.

@mandelslime I am aware but, again, this is standard across both the Senedd and Westminster as shown here. I think an elected officials time can be spent with much more important tasks than complaining about such trivial protocol.

The point is not that 'normal' volume levels for a hand dryer can't be distressing for certain autistic people, but rather that it is already clear from seeing the hand dryer that the device will make a loud noise. Labelling things unnecessarily is a waste of taxpayers' money. Had money been spent more appropriately in supporting people with autism, perhaps the Welsh Government would not have had to recently announce plans to re-direct funding away from adult autism.

Did anyone else really dislike Destiny dungeons for no reason? Like it's probably my most "insane" D2 take but I can never shake off the feeling. They always felt like worse raid lairs. I'm still missing Auger's and stuff on alts because the thought of playing them makes me groan
