For all of the talk about Jews and the Jewish People, I would have expected an even more serious awakening for serious study about Judaism and Jewish life. The whole world is wondering what we are about. I hope Jews lead the way investing in our answer…

Th earliest Megillas Esther can be read is the 11th of Adar. Friday night was the 11th of Adar. And that is when the Purim story of our moment began. בימים ההם בזמן הזה

@msuster Truly appreciate putting the weather control company investments to good use. My kid got us out of the snow, but 75 + ☀️ is even better.

You RUIN schools by allowing kids to use screens for "BAD" things (cheat, doom scroll, distract others). You IMPROVE schools by allowing kids to use screens for "GOOD" things (direct instruction-based apps, research for project in area of interest). What's confusing about this?
TBPN@tbpn

Parents are waking up to how bad screen time is for kids. Schools that have banned phones are seeing extraordinary results. @esaagar breaks down the vibe shift, and says parents are now asking to get rid of school-issued Chromebooks and switch back to pencil and paper.

@MrZachG Top students growth predictions are lower depending on if you create avenues for advancement you can see growth targets still exceeded. There can also be ceiling effects even with overlapping assessments, not optimized to measure growth.

If you have ever had your kids take MAP or a MAP-like test, you will know that the top students are actually predicted to go down in scores, while the lowest students are almost guaranteed to go up. And everything in between.

@MrZachG Zach I have been following you for a while and I am sure you have some more insider knowledge but I am surprised at your optimism about this next iteration of ed tech. Can you please explain?

@Mottel My grandparents got married in a syngogue(stoke newington) 20 minutes north of this shul. It is now a mosque. It's not unusual. It is what it is. That's the Jewish story of central London. Halachikly you could still daven there 😉 (at least according to the Rambam)

Started this over shabbos. Hopefully they'll eventually translate it as it's a gold mine and incredible entry point to understanding korbanos. @ShabbosReads

Just a month into Australia’s social media ban, the results are in: Australia is taking real steps in protecting their kids from the harms of TikTok, Snapchat, and Instagram. France, Spain, Denmark, and others are taking the necessary steps to protect their kids. Meanwhile in America, parents are left all alone to battle Big Tech by themselves, one child at a time. Everywhere I go I hear the same anger and angst. Parents want help in protecting their kids from the addiction that big tech peddles. It’s time for the U.S. to act and ban social media apps for kids 16 and younger. Our parents can’t wait any longer. nytimes.com/2026/01/15/wor…

💡What is creativity? It's taking facts & knowledge you have in your brain and applying them to solve problems. That's it. You can't be creative without knowledge. Jared Cooney Horvath explained this so well in my latest episode. Take a minute to listen to the clip below.

Is analog feedback the secret weapon in a classroom or microschool that uses personalized-learning apps for academics? This tracker was used by a teacher at Alpha Public Schools. Each time a student mastered an IXL Learning lesson, they crossed it off—and got a happy stamp from their guide. What students loved: - Frequent, human feedback from their teacher - A tangible and visible sense of progress - The feeling of crossing off a to-do list ... I can relate The tradeoff: - Paper trackers add prep and complexity for the teacher or guide So here’s the real question: When academics move to laptops, does motivation still need to stay paper based? Curious how others think about this 👇 @Mallory_Dwinal @Catlin_Tucker @C_Hendrick @MrZachG

Extremist Israeli attacks on Arabs in the “West Bank” are a stain on Israeli society. These thugs need to be arrested, prosecuted and jailed, and this violence has to be stopped. But Arabs attack the Jewish residents of these areas an estimated 60 times more frequently than attacks upon them by Jews. These attacks are virtually never reported in Western media. The lives of “settlers” are deemed worthless. These Jewish victims of murderous violence have effectively been dehumanised by the so-called civilised West, which ignores any evidence that challenges the monstrous lie it tells itself of innate Israeli evil. melaniephillips.substack.com/p/the-muddled-…

@mikeeisenberg @chamath @BBC Bbc reporting has been a sad excuse for news for a long time. My mother who is a proud Brit learned the hard way during the Gulf War when the BBC radio was reporting that there were chemical weapons being used by saddam on Israel.

No @chamath. It was not reckless and irresponsible - it was pre-meditated, malicious, political and ideological just like the @BBC malicious, political and ideological reporting on Israel’s war in Gaza and especially their fake accusations on israel hitting the hospital.
Chamath Palihapitiya@chamath

This was beyond reckless and irresponsible. They should play this “side by side” clip on BBC so people can see both versions and judge for themselves.
