Chabad is the only Jewish organization to reach out to me when I lived in rural South Carolina, and certainly they were the only Jewish Org to drive out to my house and deliver matza for Passover, without me asking or joining or paying 😂 I’m almost a secular Jew (working on it), my wife is not Jewish, I’m certainly not Orthodox - and yet the South Carolina Chabad Rabbi is still checking in on me, even after I moved out of state. FIRST LOOK: Val Kilmer has been resurrected via AI to star in the new movie "As Deep as the Grave." Kilmer was cast in the movie in 2020, five years before his death. But he was too sick amid his throat cancer battle to ever make it to set. Now an AI version of the actor is appearing in the film, with the full blessing of his daughter, Mercedes: "He always looked at emerging technologies with optimism as a tool to expand the possibilities of storytelling. This spirit is something that we are all honoring within this specific film, of which he was an integral part.” “He was the actor I wanted to play this role,” says writer-director Coerte Voorhees. “It was very much designed around him. It drew on his Native American heritage and his ties to and love of the Southwest... His family kept saying how important they thought the movie was and that Val really wanted to be a part of this. @samsheffer USB C port on my phone got stripped from constant plugging and unplugging. I switched to a puck to avoid that in the future. I use USB only if I need to charge in a rush

Just did a Bar Mitzvah (wrapped tefillin for the first time) with a pro-Palestinian Jewish protester. Walking out of the annual ADL conference today, I saw a group of protesters. Instead of shouting back, I said to my friend, “Let’s have a conversation.” We started talking with Isaac. When he said a few Yiddish words, I asked if he was Jewish. He said both his parents are. I said, “Let’s wrap tefillin.” He agreed. As we wrapped, some fellow protesters started yelling vile insults at us. Isaac defended us and said: “This has nothing to do with politics. This is religion and a connection to God. I’m a Jew and I’ll always be a Jew.” Afterward, he even encouraged another Jewish protester to wrap. A powerful reminder: sometimes Judaism can unite where politics divides. I wish there were more Isaacs in the world.
