Judging the first four rounds, here's my hot take for the Candidates: Caruana and Sindarov will run away from everyone in the standings and will battle it out in a dramatic finish, while Pragg with Esipenko will be battling for the 3rd. Let's see if this will age well.

Sindarov is dismantling this candidates field. currently has 3.5/4.
Hans was dismantling Sinquefield cup field with 2.5/3 when magnus withdrew.
Sindarov and Hans both have had accounts closed for cheating. Guess only difference is Sindarov likeable while hans is not

@Scienceseur @PHChess I think there has to be a distinction for positions that are incredibly difficult. Hikaru had to fight to stay alive so a step in the wrong direction is a testament to Fabi's pressure than a one-off blunder.

I think Jacobs analysis is wrong.
What we see is a lot of computer based speciality preparation.
Like 3 Nf3 Nd7 and 3 Nc3 h6 QGD yesterday.
Or Pragg allowing the Bxh7+ sacrifice, knowing its a draw.
Games decided have been due to severe blunders, not by deep strategic play.

Carl says that people who have stopped watching missed that it was exciting. It is easy to come with a wrong analysis when you are not watching and only give the results! The openings ended early and the games were really sharp. But traditionally, there are a lot of nervous energy released on Day 1 (3 decisive games in the Open Section) and the players have a sense of recoil on Day 2. Renier Castellanos did the analysis on the 1970 Interzonal and the latest Grand Swiss. The rate of draws were the same. We have all days had people saying that chess is boring if it ends in a draw. These people are not watching, entirely for their own reasons. I love Carl and what he does for chess and for the country. He is a hero of mine. But this was not a great analysis :-)

Generally I find elite chess to be more boring because of the prep and the use of engines.

It's why barely anyone I have spoken to is watching. Everyone is so well prepped.
Give me club, county and weekend tournaments any day with mistakes galore. At least it's fun.

Canada may never have another Conservative government again.
No, I’m not black pilling it. Everything is lining up to for the Conservatives to never win another Federal election, at least for the foreseeable future.
Right now, people are so frustrated and fed up with Canada, they’re leaving. The ones leaving aren’t the ones who vote Liberal. They’re the Conservatives who are tired of watching the Liberals absolutely destroy Canada.
Add to that the floods of people that the Liberals are bringing into Canada. Sorry. Not people. Liberal voters. This will help ensure the Liberals win elections for many terms to come.
This is what I predict the future of Canada will be. Endless Liberal governments until they are so successful at destroying us through immigration, that a Muslim Party is formed and they win a majority government, thus paving the way to sharia law in Canada.
This isn’t just a possible outcome for Canada, it’s a probable one. Look around. You’ll see the signs. This is exactly what is being planned.
And the Liberals are making it happen.

Did you know you can play the Arc-AGI-3 games yourself?
I just tried it myself and I can tell you that if the best models can't even score 1% on these tests, we are VERY far away from AGI.
