Some have 0% for disabled Veterans, etc. Good insurance really depends on the area. We have a company called State Farm, and are pretty happy with them. I think its around $60 a month.

Property insurance is kinda bad, depending on where you live. But it's a free market, so if you dont like the terms of an insurance company you get a different one

Some states are higher, some are lower, some have exceptions for veterans. It's a balancing act, they need money to fund the govt from somewhere (Income tax, Sales tax (VAT in EU), or property tax.

@compliantvc We pay nowhere near that for a car to drive. I've never had a lease or a loan for a car. I spend around $80 a month for insurance, and around $40-$60 a week in gas. In many parts of the country public transportation is available. Tip is 20% for dine-in. Food prices are similar.
