The Afroman Trial. -Cops raid Afromans house for bullshit reasons. -Steal money, break his door, fuck his house up. -No criminality found whatsoever, no charges at all pressed on Afroman. -Afroman spends the next 3 years making songs that make fun of all the officers involved by name, even using footage of the raid from his own CCTV cameras. -Songs had titles like "Randy Walters is a son of a bitch" and "Lick Em Low Lisa" accusing one of the officers of being a lesbian and sleeping with the other officers wives. -During the raid one officer looked like he was about to eat some lemon pound cake sitting on Afromans counter, Afroman made a whole album calling the officer fat. -The cops get mad and file a lawsuit for defamation. -Afroman turns up to court in a whole American flag suit. -Officers performatively mald and cry while listening to the songs really trying to oversell how badly the songs upset them. -One officer was suing because Afroman made a whole song about him saying he was fucking the officers wife. When the officer was asked if Afroman was really fucking his wife, he said "I don't know". Nuking his own case and establishing that there is a non-zero chance that Afroman might actually be fucking his wife. -As his only witness for the trial, Afroman brought a deputies EX FUCKING WIFE. -The jury ruled completely in favour of Afroman. This entire thing has been a great win for free speech and absolutely fucking hilarious.

In 2015, Disney called 250 IT workers into a meeting. They thought they were getting bonuses. Disney told them they were being replaced by workers flown in from India on H-1B visas, and if they didn't spend the next 90 days training those replacements, they'd lose their severance. Leo Perrero testified before Congress about it. Appeared on 60 Minutes. "Someone was flown in from another country to sit at my same desk and take over what I was doing. It was the most humiliating thing I've ever gone through in my life." Two workers sued Disney, HCL, and Cognizant for colluding to illegally displace American workers. Courts dismissed it. Disney Magic.

🚨 Let me tell you why this Goldman Sachs headline is the most dangerous one you'll read today.. Companies spent $450 billion on AI last year.. fired tens of thousands of people to "restructure around AI".. replaced entire departments with chatbots.. And Goldman Sachs just said it contributed basically zero to economic growth.. so where did the money go? > It went to Nvidia.. $130 billion in GPU sales.. Jensen is the only man on earth who got rich from AI that hasn't produced anything yet.. > It went to stock buybacks.. companies fired people, cut costs, reported "record profits" and bought back their own shares.. the money went UP not OUT.. Jesus! > It went to a bubble.. the same way crypto money went to Lamborghinis and not infrastructure.. AI money is going to valuations and not productivity.. here's the part that should terrify you.. They already fired the people.. Atlassian 1,600.. Meta 21,000.. Block 40%.. Amazon warehouses.. the jobs are already gone.. But the growth didn't come.. the productivity didn't come.. the revenue didn't come.. they burned the village to build a city that doesn't exist yet.. and Goldman Sachs just looked at the empty lot and said "there's nothing here"

About the Pearl Harbor reference, Trump may have said it ironically, but I don’t expect the Japanese side to take it very well (Japanese vs American humor is just very different). I’m excited to see how the news reacts tomorrow.

🚨 BREAKING: 🚨The Maricopa County Board of Elections has come forward to issue an apology to President Trump, stating that elections officials in the county have now brought forth evidence alleging that then Secretary of State (now Governor) Katie Hobbs and then Speaker of the Arizona House of Representatives Rusty Bowers PERSONALLY ORDERED THEM TO DESTROY TENS OF THOUSANDS OF MAIL-IN BALLOTS FOR PRESIDENT TRUMP and to count the TENS OF THOUSANDS OF BALLOTS THAT WERE CAST BY ILLEGAL ALIENS FOR JOE BIDEN in Arizona's largest county in the 2020 election. This was "outcome-determinative fraud" by the very individuals who were entrusted to conduct, oversee and certify the election and Hobbs and Bowers are both alleged to have been on the payroll of at least 3 hostile foreign governments, The George Soros Open Society Foundation and The DNC in exchange for RIGGING the 2020 election in Arizona. Put simply, there is now IRREFUTABLE AND INDISPUTABLE PROOF that President Trump WON the state of Arizona in that STOLEN election out of the mouths of the very people who counted the votes. LOCK THESE TREASONOUS CROOKS UP NOW! 🇺🇸💪🏻🔥

Crimson Desert looks cool. I bet version 2 will be amazing. Just not sure if I want to spend 70 bucks on it yet. Looking forward to Project Hail Mary though, the book was great.

The DemocratThink Manifesto: A Clinical Autopsy of the Modern Left's Pathological Mind (A Thread 🧵) Here is the unvarnished pathology of the modern Left, laid bare in its own grotesque symmetry...the DemocratThink manifesto, not as meme, but as a clinical dissection of a mind that has surrendered to contradiction, projection, and civilizational self-loathing. This is not mere hypocrisy; it is a deliberate psychological architecture, a fortress of cognitive dissonance engineered to shield a dying ideology from the light of reason. It weaponizes language, inverts morality, and feasts on the very chaos it denies. I carve through each tenet, exposing the venomous core: a collective psyche fractured by relativism, infantilized by victimhood, and animated by a Nietzschean will-to-power that masquerades as compassion. This is the Left’s soul in autopsy...cold, precise, lethal. 🧵

So the real reason for the Trump admin struggling to crack down on left-wing terror cells in the wake of the Kirk shooting is because the guy they appointed to direct their counter-terrorism policy was too busy getting mindfucked by Candace Owens podcasts for the past 6 months

The game is complicated, sandbox-driven, and low on handholding, so obviously reviewers didn't click with it.
thomasmahler@thomasmahler

It’s a bit disturbing to see how many players were insanely hyped for Crimson Desert until today and how quickly opinions have shifted now - hell, I think most people saw it as the potential new Elden Ring 😳 But now the reviews have come in and it sits on a 78 on Metacritic. And to most gamers, that means it’s pretty much a waste of time. But then I listened to @ForceStrategy’s breakdown, a reviewer who’s usually spot on, and he had a ton of good things to say about it - as long as you come in with the right expectations. It was honestly quite silly to expect the team that was in charge of BDO to build the next Elden Ring… but based on what Force was saying, I could easily see them still turning things around. I think in general I love the games industry for of how passionate everyone is about games - but it also feels like games get overhyped so often that it’s becoming a bit ridiculous… So… give them some time. There’s definitely something interesting going on with Pearl Abyss. For some reason, they know how to generate a ton of hype. I remember how insanely excited people were about DokeV when they showed a trailer at Gamescom a few years back. So I’d say… chill and let’s see how they’re reacting to this feedback. Will definitely be interesting to follow! 👍

You’re going to like this. Let me explain why Joe Kent’s argument falls apart with his “We’re not the crazy ones, the system is cunningly trying to make us look crazy to hide the ball”, how it reveals the flaws in this kind of conspiracy thinking, and finally why so many people fall for it And I’ll do it by giving you three scenarios regarding the Thomas Crooks (Trump’s attempted assassin) shooting range tapes which he claims could show who he might have been training with. Joe claims that they deliberately hide information like this, let crazy conspiracy theories circulate, and use that to discredit anyone asking questions Scenario 1: Release the unredacted tapes. Now you’re going to have thousands of online sleuths scrutinizing every single person in those video tapes and finding ways to link them to the conspiracy… ruining the lives of many innocent people in the process. But they will still find ways to work those tapes into the conspiracy Scenario 2: Release the tapes but blur people’s faces. Now those same people are going to use this as proof that a conspiracy is being covered up Scenario 3: Don’t release the tapes. This is what Joe is saying here…whereby they don’t release the tapes precisely in order to get conspiracy theorists saying crazy things to “divert all attention away from the thing that you’re trying to conceal” No matter what the authorities do, the conspiracy theory is confirmed, and that is because conspiracy theories are unfalsifiable. No amount of transparency, facts or debunking can ever prove the conspiracy theory wrong And here’s the interesting part, and you can try this on your own. I asked Grok 4.20 (which uses four agents to think these problems through) whether they agreed with Joe Kent’s premise. And it 100% agreed with Joe. I told Grok it was wrong and should recheck its logic, and it still insisted that Joe was right. I then gave the hint about the unfalsifiability of conspiracy theories and I’d say Grok got 30% of the way there. Finally, I broke it down into these 3 scenarios and Grok finally understood the error Now, these multi-agent AIs are actually pretty good at figuring out this kind of stuff…so why exactly did Grok 4.20 get this wrong? That happened because, as a learned language model, Grok defaults to verbal reasoning and pattern-matching on what simply “sounds right” — exactly the way most humans think most of the time. It’s not that critical thinking is impossible; it’s just cognitively easier to ride the intuitive flow than to engage in the far more rigorous effort of critical thinking And that’s precisely why this kind of framing is so dangerously effective at spreading: it feels like insight, slips past our defenses, and turns into widespread deception before anyone notices the catch-22 And this is basically what I see all the time from all these people that I call grifters on social media. I’m not saying that I am immune to being fooled by verbal reasoning…far from it The real takeaway is humility. These narratives spread so effectively not because people are gullible, but because they’re bombarded with too much information and default to this mode of thinking…quick pattern-matching on what simply sounds right. Add in an algorithm that’s designed to mimic your way of thinking, and I think you can work out how that goes Building the habit of slowing down and stress-testing ideas with basic checks like these three scenarios is harder work than it looks. Most people never do it. And that’s exactly why this kind of intellectual deception keeps working so well
The Vigilant Fox 🦊@VigilantFox

Tucker Carlson asked Joe Kent why the Thomas Crooks surveillance tapes haven’t been released. Kent’s answer blew him away. He explained the government deliberately withholds information to create noise with conspiracy theories, so the “actual question never gets answered.” TUCKER: “The current president was the subject of a near-successful assassination attempt.” “And we’re just not going to look into very obviously or divulge information that everyone knows they have.” “For example, the surveillance tape from the shooting range at which Thomas Crooks trained, because it would answer the question, was he training with somebody?” “And if so, who? They have that footage, and they won’t release it. What could possibly be the explanation for that?” KENT: “I know what the result is. The result is people come to their own conclusions. And this is where crazy conspiracy theories come from.” “And then those conspiracy theories usually are easy to ‘debunk’ or make the people saying them sound crazy. So then the actual question never gets answered.” [Tucker laughs in awe] TUCKER: “Sorry. Can you say that for people who haven’t lived in Washington?” “I try to explain this to people all the time because this has been ongoing since at least the Kennedy assassination.” “But this is a very serious and recurring thing. It’s a tactic. And you just explained it better than anyone I’ve ever heard. Can you just do that again?” KENT: “So basically, you give no information whatsoever on something that’s obvious, that there should be information.” “You outlined there’s potentially footage of Crooks at the shooting range. Again, police, 101, go get the tapes. Let’s figure it out.” “If you don’t want to address that question, then you just go silent. You say, ‘you can’t ask that question,’ which then creates people who come out of kind of nowhere, and they start drawing their own conclusions.” “Knowing the way the internet works, half of them, if not more, are probably going to be so far off in left field... that then you can just be like, Oh, these people asking these questions about that tape at the video range. Crazy conspiracy theorists.’” “And so then you’ve just diverted all attention away from the thing that you’re trying to conceal. And now everyone’s focused on the crazies.” TUCKER: “Man.” KENT: “And then the second someone asks a legitimate question, they’re ‘crazy.’”
