Being mostly alone when I had nothing has left me with some sort of resentment towards relationships. I feel I owe no one commitment since they weren't there when I was labouring for what I have. "What right does she have to question me about what I do with my life or my money?" "She's only here because of this version of myself I've laboured for" Deep down I know that isn't the right mindset to have, especially for the kind of family I envision but the anger creeps out from time to time. Maybe if I meet a woman with some sort of leverage, like foreign citizenship or something, it might help balance things in my head.
