Rivers completed 8 of 11 passes for 108 yards in his debut, and this was a 27:0 win over the Faiders (Marty ball with the great LT). On the other hand, Herbert threw for 311 yards in his debut and we lost 23:20.
I love Rivers so much. His wins and pro-bawl selections in the first 6 seasons were facilitated because Marty built a great team around him (and Norv's early success stopped when the players Marty drafted and developed left the team). In other words, Herbert didn't have River's luxury before Harbaugh came.
