@akinikamanig Aptly put, the Indian culture was very liberal with women empowerment being a foundational pillar of the society, it was the conquest by the fanatical ultra orthodox abrahamic religion that stifled women and brought in conservatism without which survival was at stake

Unsharpened pencils, Brown M&Ms and what they say about something (much) bigger
Over the last few weeks I have attended two committee meetings at five star hotel conference rooms.
Both hotels dutifully provided a writing pad and a pencil at every seat. One even doing it in a whole leather get up.
BUT in both places I realised that my pencil had zero or nothing left to write with. It needed sharpening. I looked around and it was the same for everyone around.
It reminded me of this story of a 1980's Rock band called Van Halen.
Whenever the band went anywhere for the concert, as soon as they checked into the hotel they looked at the Jar of M&Ms (these are like our childhood Cadbury Gems) in their rooms to check if it had any brown sweets.
Why? Because their contract specified that the Jar of M&Ms in the room should not have any brown ones.
Sounds like typical entitled star behaviour. But was it?
Not really. The band manager later explained that this was a checkpoint for them. If the brown sweets were still there, it meant that nobody had read through their detailed specifications carefully!
In which case there might be anything wrong from stage safety to the sound systems. They would then do a detailed check of everything even if it delayed the concert.
It was something like a canary in the coal mine kind of test.
Coming back to the unsharpened pencils.
This is a classic case of lack of attention to the details and or lack of a proper checklist and training.
Something like this makes you think of where else in the hotel are corners being cut?
What is the level of hygiene in the kitchens?
Or in the cleaning of rooms and bathrooms?
Are drinking water glasses being handled with clean hands?
Having a leather desk set is easy. Making sure the pencils are sharpened really shows what you are about!

@akinikamanig It was the dream team of ineptitude, corruption, nepotism, bureaucracy, rule by proxy and if you include policy on Pakistan sponsored terrorism + Chidu then treason as well.
English

At this point, despite all the evidence we’ve seen resurface, if you’re still saying this - it can only mean one of two things.
1. You’re really THAT stupid.
2. You’re hoping everyone else is THAT stupid.
Either way, Manmohan Singh was the single worst Prime Minister for the Economy (we don’t even need to talk about how much of a nightmare he was as a puppet PM) this country has ever had.
Please show yourself out.

Time for people to realise how great Manmohan Singh was. To keep petrol at Rs. 60 when Crude was $160 per barrel and not make such a drama after looting us for 12 years when crude was 90 $ per barrel.

@juliachaigneau @abhijitnath_ Indian theatres have breaks and multiple food options, like cooked and prepared food and not something like chips and popcorn. That’s the bit I miss most.
English

Only in India you will find a mall opening for a 6:50 am movie with a variety food.
At that time of the day I would have never dare hopping for any food available and here I am choosing if I would prefer a paneer tikka sandwich, veg club or aloo burger.
I could have only dreamt of this in Europe haha.
Also only @prachiruns would accompany me for an early movie like that.
I love India. I will never say it enough.

Let me recount a small story to you.
Retired Pakistani Lt Col Habib Zaheer desired to keep working even after his retirement from the Pakistan Army, so he mentioned in his linked in profile, "Open to work in the UNO".
A few months after posting his linked in profile, Col Habib received a call from the UK. The man identified himself as 'Mark Thompson'. Mark explained that he was working for the UNO and the UNO needed retired army men just like him to work for their organisation, dedicated, trained and expert in geopolitics.
The Col had to appear for an interview, the details of which were listed in the email sent to him from the UNO, HR department.
Lt Col Zaheer then checked the website. The package offered was attractive, with residential accommodation included along with perks.
Immediately Lt Col Habib Zaheer proceeded to Nepal and sent a selfie to his wife from Kathmandu explaining that his hotel stay was arranged by the UNO officials and from Kathmandu he would be proceeding to Lumbini for a one to one interview.
For those who are unaware, let me add that the distance between Lumbini in Nepal and the Indian border is just 5 km, as the crow flies.
After this interaction, all traces of Lt Col Zaheer disappeared from the face of this flat Earth. His family found, to their consternation, that his phone was permanently switched off.
The mobile number and email of Mark Thompson was untraceable and the website has been deleted.
All traces of that particular UK resident, Mark had also disappeared along with that of Lt Col Habib Zaheer!!!
The family then contacted the Pakistani Army officials. The Pakistani army in turn contacted the Nepal Police which formed an investigation team at Pakistan's request, but no progress was reported.
Pakistan's Foreign Office cited strong evidence of Indian hostile agencies, including digital footprints and bookings in hotels done by Indian nationals where our Colonel had stayed.
But no trace of Lt Col Habib could be found. It was as if the Earth itself had swallowed him up.
Lt Col Habib Zaheer had in the year 2016, taken part in a trap laid out for RAW agent, Kulbhushan Jadhav, capturing him treacherously from Balochistan after inviting Kulbhushan Jadhav from Iran to Baluchistan luring him with information.
Kulbhushan Jadhav was sentenced to death in Pakistan, but India had fought the case in the International Court of Justice gaining access to him in 2000 and stopping his death sentence.
Lt Col Habib Zaheer at that time had taunted RAW with the words, "Your monkey is with us."
Coincidentally, when Pakistan's Army reached the hotel room in Kathmandu, there were many paintings of monkeys in the room where Col Zaheer was last seen alive.
The RAW Never Forgets.♥️
The RAW Never Speaks.
