@JeremyBranham Confidence in Dana trying to get it done? 100%. Confidence in Crane footing the bill required to keep them? Very little.

What's your confidence level in Dana Brown extending Hunter Brown and Jeremy Peña?
SleeperAstros@SleeperAstros

Dana Brown spoke on the possibility of extending BOTH Hunter Brown and Jeremy Peña, per @Chandler_Rome “Peña and (Hunter) Brown are two big targets for us right now,” Dana Brown said. “You got the pitcher and you got the position player and those are our two pillars for the future. I think if you can get those guys extended, those are wins. We’re going to have some conversations with them, for sure, but it’s a goal to have those guys sign extensions here.”

@RealDonKeith He had one slave and even he was stripped of that right. He do not lay the foundation of slavery—it was already shaping. Thi does take into account race-based slavery that was the most brutal. Comparing one slave to the transatlantic slave trade is disingenuous.

Did you know it was a BLACK MAN, Anthony Johnson, who was the very FIRST slave owner in America? But not only was he the first, he was the man who started the entire practice of lifelong slavery in America after suing to keep his slaves for life rather than the usual indentured servitude of 7 years. It was after he won in court and established a precedent that white men and nearly 4,000 other black men adopted the practice of holding slaves for life. This is what THE LEFT doesn’t want you to know so that they can continue to use RACISM to their advantage.

When we are young in faith, we need the do’s and don’ts, the basics of faith. Being young in faith does not mean young in age. We can go through the entirety of our lives, know a majority of scripture by heart, and still remain young in faith, never getting beyond those do’s and don’ts. Too often, they remain our focus, our goal, and ultimately our failures. We will always fail at them at some point, and it is all by design. There will always be temptations, giants in our way. If they did not exist, however, would there be any need for faith? Without them, we could just decide to be perfect, like Jesus. Many times, our constant failures to live up to what God says we are to Him are the very things that lead us away from Him. Instead, they should be what draws us to Him. They are where our faith must take hold. They are where we put our trust in Him to lead us through. We should praise God for our trials. This is where we learn to ‘die to ourselves,’ so He may live through us. Who authored those dos and don’ts? Jesus does not steal, does not lie, does not lust, He isn’t lazy, He doesn’t slander, and so much more…And the moment you truly believe in Him, you can’t help but love Him. If we love Him, we keep His word. If we do this, His Spirit, the very Spirit of God, takes up residence within each of us. God literally lives inside of us! John 14:23: Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home within them. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they are the words of the Father who sent me.” In everything we do, we must stop seeing the world through our own eyes, which are flesh. We must look within, to His Spirit, and He will show us the world as He sees it. He will guide us through our trials, our temptations, our grief. He already overcame the world, and we are His vessels in this world, created so that He may reach all by His Spirit living in and working through us. If you believe in Him, If you love Him, you’re already forgiven. Dwell no longer on what you may have done, only on what He can do in and through you.

CJ Stroud on how criticisms in the offseason may affect his mindset: “It’ll just make my mindset I do have even more tenacious & focused. My vision will be clear. My dad used to always tell me growing up when bad things happened in sports, ‘it adds fuel to the fire.’ I know this ain’t the end of CJ Stroud, ain’t the end of my career. Like I said the sun came up this morning. This ain’t gunna be the last time people count me out or count me in.”

Once again Bill, and this time a little firmer...that is one of the most assinien statements you have made thus far. It is a lie. You know it is a lie. You post to stir the pot. You sow discord amongst those young in faith who share the same Christ. Your pride in your earthly 'wisdom' will be your end.

Regardless of what is factual or not, your constant condescending tone in your posts and replies does not shine the light of Christ, only darkness. None will ever be drawn to the faith in the ways that you speak. Your bio states to 'live like a catholic'; if this is the life a catholic portrays, why should I, or anyone wish to live it.

@FatherChrisVor1 I do not mean this in a harmful way, but I must ask: With all of the downtrodden that you say you spend time with, you say the MOST significant spiritual encounter has been with priests? That is a strange stance to me

The most significant spiritual encounters I have had in my life have been with Roman Catholic priests. Enjoying a breakfast, going for an afternoon walk. These men of hard work, with little gratitude, make the difference. Please pray for priests everywhere.

Chris, far too many think that we should just preach at these people, and if they don't hear well then they're just lost. Those who are outcast and stuck in a life of sin are who need the love of Christ the most. How can he show them love unless through our own hands and feet? Many have been failed by those who claim the faith yet have never been shown Christ.

How many of you have committed mortal sins. Adultery, etc.? And yet you mock priests like me, missionaries, who are out &among people like drug dealers, prostitutes, etc. Do you think because the law of the land doesn’t consider your sin a crime, that you somehow will be saved?

Yes, they must hear the word. Most have heard the gospel at some point in their lives. Many unbelievers are knowledgeable in the Scriptures, at least the basics. Some know more than some scholars, as far as what they say. The reason many of them remain unbelievers is that they see hypocrisy rather than Christ in those who preach.

The Bible says faith comes by HEARING the WORD of GOD...and how can they hear unless somebody tells them? No man is perfect....only Jesus...we are called to preach...if you are a preacher...to preach the Gospel to the lost and make disciples of the Christians...but yes..we are to let our light shine before men, to see our good works to glorify our Father who is in heaven

We should have great compassion for those trapped in false religions like Islam, Mormonism, or Buddhism. They are seeking God in places he cannot be found. We must explain the Bible to them and point them to the only place where salvation can be found: Jesus Christ.

@Zachspeare @Catholic_bro Jesus' sacrifice on the cross happened once, it is finished. He rose and defeated sin. Our atonement is living in Him, with Him in us, Him through us for the world to witness. That is our adoration, our thanksgiving.

“If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water’” (John 7:37-38) What flows from you in your life? Jesus didn’t say there would be a trickle. He didn’t say that ‘sometimes’ living water would flow. He said there would be rivers! These living waters are the Holy Spirit, sent to indwell all who believe in Him. Do you believe that Jesus is the son of God, that He died and rose on the third day for the sins of all before ascending to Heaven with the Father? Yes? The moment you had that faith, the moment you out your trust in Christ, God sent His Spirit to you. But you’re still flesh. Most of us, as we are young in faith, strive to do better, to follow Jesus better, to be a better person. At some point, we all fail. Some of us remain young in our faith for most, or all, of our lives. We strive, we try, and what is that? It’s work. Hard work. It is not the rest that Jesus promised. That rest only comes when we ‘die to ourselves.’ But how do we die and keep on living? We simply resign ourselves to He who indwells us. We stop working and allow Him to lead. This is where sanctification begins. It is where we are perfected in Christ and made full and complete in the eyes of our God. Will we still sin? Of course, we will, we are still flesh, but we will know. The Spirit will convict us and always lead us from that which tempts us and lead us to repentance. We were made by the Father to be spiritual beings, vessels to carry Him to the world through our hands and mouths. We were made to have rivers of living water flowing from us that is Christ, if we only allow Him to lead. There is still work to be done…But it is His and not our own.
