Advocated for Canada’s workers and businesses in today’s meeting with Texas Governor @GregAbbott_TX and Canadian MP @StevenBonkMP. In 2024, Texas was Canada’s second-largest export destination, and our fourth-largest trading partner overall, with $75 USD billion in trade. This included billions in Canadian natural resources and manufactured goods, including nearly $7 USD billion of oil and gas in 2024 alone. By my count, tomorrow is the deadline for the Liberal government to appeal the Federal Court of Appeal’s decision on the Emergencies Act to the Supreme Court.
So far, they have not said whether they will accept the ruling that they violated the Charter rights of Canadians.
