Statement from the Long Beach POA following today’s civil jury decision.

On 1/20/1957, LBPD Officer Frederick Walsh (26 years old) was killed in an on-duty auto accident. He was survived by his expectant wife Kathryn, and his two young children (Christine, 4, and David, 2). RIP sir .. you are remembered. #LBPOA #LBPD #longbeach #longbeachcalifornia

On Jan 1, 1976, LBPD Officer Gary Elkins was shot and killed in an ambush by a deranged gunman. Elkins (34 yrs old) left behind a loving wife, two small children, and six siblings, one of which was also an LBPD officer. RIP Officer Elkins. You are remembered sir. #LBPOA #LBPD
