If an Independence Day scenario occurred, the mainstream press would be trying to gauge the aliens' political slant based on which cities were targeted first

@qsfkbwIhuWLhnjI In 2020 our mainstream media tried to turn George Floyd's death into a focal point for a race war. Some black people -- not many, but some -- believed them.

I just have no patience with women whining about misogyny on the internet. I put up with insane feminist shit for two decades of my professional life. It's current year, I run a reader-supported blog and I don't have to do that anymore. Stupid bitches need to fuck off.

@Steve_Sailer @BrianJNBA Sounds like my Dad's utopia. He loves CBS procedurals (his current favorite is Tracker starring Justin Hartley) and has a soft spot for Hallmark movies. I take after my Mom though; we scoff at such formulaic tripe. America's divisions run deep...

@BrianJNBA I live in LA near the CBS Studio and the Hallmark headquarters. Many think it must be full of blue-haired transgender weirdos, but actually everybody dresses like they are trying to catch the eye of casting directors of CBS police procedurals and Hallmark Christmas movies.

Every CBS show is called something like "POLICECOP," it stars an actor you haven't thought of in 15 years and it gets 75 million viewers per episode.

@corsair21c This is a nothing-burger over "mishandling government files," which gov employees do sometimes. The depositions were conducted two months ago. The only reason they're public is because some Dem leaked them to stir up their mob. DOGE is still working. Stop black-pilling.

@escapefrommelos Sanchez is a wild woman descended from Mexico's aristocracy. She makes Bezos feel alive, in a way his nerd SWPL women-folk never could.

Women can't conceptualize the world outside of themselves (hence the famous "women not understanding POV" meme, the "women photographing an object" meme, etc), so they ALWAYS conflate male desire and mating priorities with their own. they just don't understand the genders are different, and that men DON'T want "Degrees and Achievements", they want someone who makes them "Feel Like a King": Strong, Desired, Competent, In Charge. I have zero visibility in Bezos's relationships, but I guarantee that Lauren Sanchez makes him feel that way. Judging by what MacKenzie Scott does with her time and how she spends her (his) money, I would also put money on the fact that she did exactly the opposite.

Men think this is an improvement. MacKenzie Scott, Princeton graduate, writing novels at age six, studied under Toni Morrison, founded Amazon, and one of the biggest philanthropists in the history of humanity. Versus.. whatever the fuck this is.

@Devon_Eriksen_ At least the Japanese only show the food. The real terrorism is found in South Korea, where people stream themselves eating it. Mukbang, it's called.

Apparently, "food terrorism" is not a joke the Japanese came up with just now to describe our steakposting. It's a preexisting Japanese idiom for showing you something you really want to eat, when you can't actually eat it.

@MartinSkold2 Indeed. Truman found Oppenheimer's post-war bleeding heart routine annoying and unpragmatic. The genie had already been unleashed. Contrast that with Amodei who sounds almost giddy talking about the potential threat of AGI.

I believe Oppenheimer was a sociopath. - left his girlfriend unconscious in a car after a crash he caused by racing a train (she got paid off by his dad) - possibly attempted murder - slept with his colleagues wives (although tbh lots of physicists did this or so I'm told) - generally acted liked a spoiled rich brat with little concern for others. @planefag Curious if Japan's anti-nuclear Luddites break along sexual lines too. In the West women are 3 times more likely to disfavor nuclear power as men

@memeticsisyphus 'Democracy' is just one of their magic words of power meaning 'politically-aligned.' Notice they still refer to Ukraine as a 'democratic' nation despite the fact it hasn't had an election since 2019.

At some point liberals turned “voting” into the only metric for freedom. The more voting you can do the more free you were. It doesn’t even matter how effective the voting is. It just matters if we can get more types of people voting. The young, infirmed, non-citizens, felons, prisoners, people no longer living in the community, the more votes the more freedom.

The enormity of Bush is lost because the things that libs hate him for are like 1/20 of the damage he did to America. Making taxpayers pay for old people's meds and for speds was far worse. Implicit disparate impact parts of No Child Left Behind were worse. Migration was bad too
Aleph@woke8yearold

George W. Bush is arguably the worst president of all time and it's hard to overstate what a devastating effect he had on the country and the American right. He was all the worst aspects of boomercons in their most retarded possible forms

@ModernHerm @politicalmath It would make sense if Democrats were more inclined to submit bs FEMA declarations, eg for bad snow storms that local municipalities should be able to handle Would have to look at individual denials

@politicalmath This explanation does not make sense. Republican acceptance rate actually has gone up compared to Trump 1 or Biden. How does that point to a tightening of standards? Democrats are at 3/13.

Btw I'm piecing together an essay about modern immigration into the US. We all think it began with the Hart-Celler Act of of 1965. But this debate in the halls of power was going back to 1952: "President Harry Truman vetoed the McCarran–Walter Act because it continued national-origins quotas that discriminated against potential allies that contained communist groups. However, Congress overrode the veto by a two-thirds vote of each house": en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immigrati…

The short answer as to why the USA closed the gates in 1924 is because Wall Street/Big Business got spooked by immigrant Jewish and Italian political extremism and terrorism.
