The excesses of the trans movement have undermined advocacy for LGBTQ rights internationally. The circus around Jesse Strang is an example of this: when people in the Global South, Asia, and Eastern Europe see Westerners refer to a psychopathic male mass shooter as a "she," that validates their worst assumptions about LGBTQ inclusivity and stokes hostility towards basic rights (e.g. anti-discrimination laws, not imprisoning homosexuals and gender-diverse people).
There's also an international security dimension to this. The anti-Western axis, led by Putin in this respect, is exploiting the ridiculousness of "woke culture" (for lack of a better term) to peel countries away from the west's cultural/political orbit.
