📆 This Friday at 12pm We’re joining journalist @PeteApps for a live Substack chat on the building safety crisis. We’ll discuss what’s going wrong and how Labour could fix it. 🔗 Link and how to join in the reply.

Nearly HALF of purpose built blocks of flats are failing fire safety checks. We have repeatedly seen that this is literally a matter of life and death. Yet building managers are neglecting their duty, cutting corners, and putting people’s lives at risk.

Should shared ownership thresholds be adapted for the more expensive areas? dlvr.it/TRZY6c #ukhousing

Tel (£) “demand for these flats has collapsed. Nearly 40pc of flats built and bought in Wandsworth since 2010 were sold at a loss in the last five years.” All you need to do is look at the pictures and then also imagine the service charges. telegraph.co.uk/money/property…

Why is this? High service charges (£8,700 a year for a 3-bedder 🤯), and concerns about cladding post Grenfell. All this makes it unsurprising that London housebuilding has collapsed - down 72% in just a year!
