@Mo_Arsenal9 Mo, have the French league set a precedent now That if Lens want to postpone a game or move a game due to injuries/tiredness, the league would okay it

Postponement of a football match can only happen if both parties agree. PSG wanted to postpone but Lens didn't. The French Football Federation yet did what PSG wished. Farmers League for a reason.

@TheRefsView The main question is Would this happen if it’s Slot, Arteta or Pep, will the Fa react the same way Same with yellow cards for simulation, they playing faking should be awarded it after the game

@DailyMail But how were the male sailors dressed, they were obviously asking for it Glad to see a precedent set, that if it was the other way around, the men would also get a no jail sentence and it’s almost acceptable

If only there was system in place like VAR that could have looked at it Waiting for the consistency for all top level games, same with a yellow card, rescind it and award it to the player faking it Can’t wait for Pep, Arteta and Slot reaction if the FA dare do this

Motherwell midfielder Callum Slattery has been handed a four-game ban, two of which are suspended, for simulation which resulted in a red card for St Mirren defender Richard King. #BBCFootball

@Mountcharles2 @top_tipz If an NFL game started at 8pm It’s done by midnight or later due to all the nonsense and commercials Something though has to be done about all the nonsense that’s in the modern game of ⚽️

@MTSmith78 @top_tipz Ball is in play on average 55mins out of 90. On this basis a match would kick off at 8pm and finish at nearly 11pm. Similar to an NFL match.

I think the game would improve if we played 90mins. No more, no less. Ball goes out, player gets injured, clock stops. Ref has no say. No added time. Would eliminate time wasting and play acting massively. Countdown to 90mins would be magic if game was tight

We can confirm that following a SFA hearing, Callum Slattery has been handed a four-match suspension, two of which are suspended. We will watch and expect consistency going forward so that Callum isn’t treated differently to any players who are accused of simulation. 📝 bit.ly/3NZM8b6

@UnfilteredSoccr @ATT Nope and they shouldn’t While I agree if the MLS took over the USL it would stabilize it and maybe stop clubs from folding USL wouldn’t want to give up all the money make while not giving the clubs anything

@mradamk85 @TheAthleticFC Is there a business reason for the cost increase? How are they getting so many trains to run to foxboro, is it offsetting other lines that cant operate? More staff or security than normal? Or just price gouging?

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) intends to almost quadruple its usual prices for a round-trip train ticket from the center of Boston to Gillette Stadium during the 2026 World Cup. According to the MBTA website, the authority usually charges people $20 for a return ticket from train stations in the center of Boston for special events such as New England Patriots games in the NFL, New England Revolution in MLS, or concerts. However, soccer fans who attended the exhibition match between France and Brazil at Gillette Stadium in Foxoboro on Thursday saw the price increased by 50 per cent, up to $30 per-person, without any options of concessions. The purchase regulations stated that children under 11 would need to possess a valid ticket. Yet even the prices charged on Thursday are set to more than double during the World Cup this summer, while they will be almost four times the usual prices asked of NFL and MLS fans. @ToddYelton I agree with that coach Do we want college sports to be participation which is the family model Or do we want college sports to mimic the pro level which is the business side For example Texas winning the SEC one year and then firing staff a year later

@MTSmith78 Matthew it’s a fair question. I actually have some very dear friends who use a business model. However, they are honest on the front end of who they are. All I am saying is that you have to choose. You can’t be both.

As college athletics continues to shift toward a business model, it’s important when deciding your college future to understand what a program truly is. Programs can’t operate as both a business and a family they have to choose. I hope we will always choose family at Samford.

🚨Many D1 Women Soccer programs provide a “multiyear” scholarship at signing day that has $ only in year 1 and zeros or is blank in years 2, 3, 4. Yes it is a “four-year scholarship” per #NCAA but really it’s a 1-year deal that is renewable each year since aid is only guaranteed in year 1. This is a shock to most players and parents as they only find out just before signing day in November when the athletic aid offer is sent and at that point there is no recourse as it is to late in the recruiting cycle and no leverage from the player side. The assumption is that whatever you were offered is for all 4 years but at many D1 programs it is really just for year 1 in all the official financial aid documents. Coaches will often spin it "we keep it blank in year 2, 3, 4 so we can offer more if you do well" but obviously if you don't show that you are a difference maker in year 1 than year 2 is already starting at zero and that is how coaches can more easily move on from players. It is a bit of a "dirty secret" in the coaching world that is never discussed. Kudos to @jemelehill for shining some light on this. #ECNL #GirlsAcademy #CollegeSoccer #2027Recruiting #NCAASoccer #D1Soccer #SoccerRecruiting

@BeastModeSoccer In England kids love the game, watch it and know about it Here it’s the richest kids that get the chance to play at pay to play elite level, you’d be amazed how many actually know about the game That he and half of training that might be the only time they touch a ball

Rachel Daly said something to me recently that I haven't stopped thinking about. We were talking about development. The differences between the US, England, where the gaps actually come from. She mentioned growing up in Yorkshire, how after school there was always a game somewhere. A wall. A park. A cage. Pickup that nobody organised and nobody coached. Just kids with a ball for two, three hours every evening. She wasn't describing training. She was describing touches. Here's the number that matters. Most youth players in the US get six to eight hours of structured training a week. That sounds like a lot. In England, when Rachel was growing up, kids were getting ten or more additional hours of unstructured ball work on top of whatever their clubs gave them. That is not a talent gap. That is a touches gap. And here is what nobody wants to say out loud. You cannot buy your way out of it. A new club does not fix it. A $200 private session is one hour. One hour. What are you doing the other 23? The players who close the gap are not the ones with the best coaches or the most expensive programmes. They are the ones who find a wall and use it. Every day. Not when they feel like it. Every day. Thirty minutes against a wall will give you more quality touches than most players get in a full week. It trains both feet. It trains first touch under repetition. It builds the muscle memory that shows up when the game speeds up and you do not have time to think. Rachel Daly did not get to where she is because she had better resources than everyone else. She got there because she put in the work that most players skip because nobody made them do it. The wall is free. The ball you already have. The thirty minutes is a choice. The question is whether you are making it.

@imathletetruth The bigger problem is the entitlement, just because you was a star on your pay to play team, when you get to college you have to earn it For some that is to much to take so they’d rather transfer out than try and fight and compete Will college ⚽️ ever go back to how it was

@MTSmith78 Agreed. Nothing was gained by allowing endless transfers. A one time “grace” transfer was working. Far too many players think it’s better at the next school and it won’t be. Coaches looking for the diamond in the rough in the portal. Both sides rarely end up happy in the end.

This is great advice! And be careful of the Spring hold over player the team keeps so they can get thru practices with the low roster numbers and injuries only to be let go at the end of the spring to make room for the new transfers and the upcoming freshman. It’s happening.

@imathletetruth Right now it’s no development and come in and make an instant impact They need to change the rule back to a one time transfer The worrying stat is how many were good pay to play players, they last one season in college, try transfer and never play again

@MTSmith78 College teams have always needed to win but the NCAA blew things up when they allowed endless transfers and NIL. Coaches used to develop players and players used to work for minutes. Now you have seniors at their 3rd/4th school and coaches looking for what’s next. Bad 4 business.
