My battery warranty is 120k or 8 years. Good advice on running the test before the battery warranty runs out. I’ve also thought about a third party battery insurance where you could add 10 years or 150k miles from your current mileage for like $3,800 with a $500 deductible that also covers the drive units. Doubt I’d keep the car that long but who knows.

Yes today will be the day my basic warranty on the ModelY ends. It will tick over 50k miles by the time we get home today

She’s been good to you? Well i gotta let you know Tesla repair outside of battery is cheaper compared to other manufacturers. since they are vertically integrated they sell their parts at whole sale. If you can DIY basic maintenance labor is free. The battery pack is 60% of the value of the car. it’s also most labor intensive. since it’s being used as part of the chassis. it’s locked in there. The hard part is it’s easy to install wrong. Your battery is has limited warranty till 150k or 5 years right? (i think) my real advice is to run the big battery test to make sure your cells are solid. run it every 10k they say more the better. before your limited warranty ends. if there’s trouble and it’s unlikely there will be. you have some coverage. My neighbor has a model Y 2019 that has 300k! Battery degradation is good he still has 80% of his range.
