🚨 At CUNY’s Cuba Conference, NNOC Co-Chair Praises Cuban Intelligence Apparatus, Calls to Discourage U.S. Military Enlistment Onyesonwu Chatoyer, co-chair of the National Network on Cuba, said that when it comes to defending Cuba, activists should “follow the lead of the Cubans,” pointing to what she described as a “really highly advanced intelligence apparatus” and a “politically conscious population.” Framing the United States as “the belly of the beast,”a familiar piece of revolutionary anti-imperialist language, she argued that activists here should focus on stopping young people from joining the U.S. military. “We have to get our people to stop joining… we have to stop them from joining the military,” she said, adding that people “cannot pick up the gun for the U.S. empire.”
