There’s no ‘technical issues’ at Muscat Airport in Oman despite what the UK government says. Other planes are landing&taking off. The UK repatriation flight is grounded as staff run out of flight hours. They sent the plane, but not enough staff to safely cover the return journey

@chrisjlatimer @iamtomskinner He didn’t say it had fallen to any one/creed/culture. Just that it’s fallen. I took that to mean as a community as a whole. What the majority of the preceding paragraphs alluded to.

I love this country. I love London with everything I’ve got. It’s the greatest city on Earth or at least, it used to be. And I’ll tell you this now: anyone who says London is safer today than it was ten, fifteen years ago is lying through their teeth. I’ve worked these streets my whole life. Grafted on market stalls since I was a kid. Rain or shine, cold mornings, long days I’ve done it all over London and the surrounding counties. It’s in my blood. I don’t know anything else and I don’t want anything else. I love the graft, the energy, the people. I love giving someone a proper deal and seeing them walk off with a smile. But it ain’t safe out there anymore. The streets have changed. And not for the better. Honestly only just Fifteen years ago, you had better community. You had characters. People would stop, have a chat, laugh with you. You had respect. Now? It’s a lot colder. It’s more hostile. It’s tense. You get people arguing, stealing, mugging. I’ve had more fights in the past few years than I ever did when I started. And for what? Just trying to earn a living. And it breaks my heart to say this but London don’t feel like London no more. The police ain’t on the beat. The people are scared. And it’s the older generation I worry about most. Their joy was getting out to the market, having a cup of tea in the café, seeing familiar faces. Now they’re prisoners in their own homes and they are too frightened to walk down their own street. That’s not the London I grew up in. That’s not the London I love. London has fallen. But I’m not giving up on it. I still believe in this gaff. I still believe in its people. And I believe it can rise again. But we need change. Real change. We need safety. We need pride. We need leadership that understands the streets, the markets, the working class. People like me. Because I’m not here to moan. I’m here to fight for what’s right. And I will never stop fighting for this gaff, for London. because it’s my we’re my family are from, it’s the absolute governor of a place, and it deserves better. It needs a bit of love. Who’s joining me? Bosh❤️🇬🇧

@CherzyS @greateranglia It wouldn’t be so bad if passengers could get even a little way along the track to the nearest open station before the issues, then get a taxi from there, rather than having to look at one from Stratford>Ips 😩

@NhsPay @greateranglia On platform 9 there is a little box they hide in by the lifts/stairs. Ask to speak to the station manager. If he says there is t one tell him to radio through to Liverpool st and get hassan Jama to organise a taxi who is station manager there.

@SyedMeh35589865 @SophieMcAllis13 @doctor_oxford It would be explained in antenatal classes. MWs don’t need to know the mechanism of action for all pain relieving methods. IMO it’s along the same line as TENS - which some women find very beneficial - and acupressure, especially for contractions felt more in the back.

@SophieMcAllis13 @doctor_oxford It’s not a women vs man debate. I am an anaesthetist and hence I have expertise to comment on labour pain relief. You did not reply how you would explain to a patient what your reasoning is that injecting water in their back would work.

@VickyVicsmi @SophieMcAllis13 @doctor_oxford I don’t see that at all. Some women want to be numb from chest down, some want to hypnobirth through it. And all are respected the same. Everyone is different, this just gives another option, especially for women who wish to avoid medical pain relief for whatever reason.

@SophieMcAllis13 @doctor_oxford It’s very controversial if you think about it. It makes mothers believe if they need pain relief they mustn’t be strong enough, encourages staff to think if some can do without so can that person.

@SophieMcAllis13 @doctor_oxford This was around when I qualified in around 2012. Imagine offering women inhalation of an oxide of nitrogen as pain relief if entonox was new. People up in arms, how can a gas relieve pain!!? But it’s now commonly accepted. As should this be, especially for back pain/OP position.

I went to school 1963 to 1975. In all of that time, I never came across another child who had: ADHD; Autism; Anxiety; Obesity; Confusion over their gender; What changed? Social media? The Internet? Parenting? Teaching? What?

@10DowningStreet What good are AEDs that are only available 32 wks of the year, 8-5pm Mon-fri, and what you need a ‘visitors pass’ to get in to access?? They should be in places with 24/7 availability (we installed ours on a church after the school 20 yards away said theirs was school use only🙄

Nobody should lose their life due to lack of access to equipment. That’s why we’ve committed to supplying 18,000 state-funded schools with a life-saving defibrillator. Today, every secondary school in England has this vital equipment.
Department for Education@educationgovuk

Today marks a milestone moment in our roll-out of life saving defibrillators. As part of a £19 million plan, all eligible secondary schools now have a defibrillator and all state-funded schools requiring one, will receive one by the end of the academic year.

@TizBroken She had the best retirement a dog could wish for. And you worked wonders with her (I was marvelling at the pics of her off lead at the cemetery thinking about how far she’d come!). Obi is still all around my house, it’ll be a year next month. Much love. -K ❤️

Claps don't pay the bills - forcing UK nurses at Guys Hospital in LDN to strike for the first time in a century. Why won't Tories pay the fair #wages that working people deserve?

It was a cold start at St Thomas' this morning. Nurses were very clear, they don't want to strike but they feel they have no choice. Many said morale was at an all time low. #NursesStrike #FairPayforNursing
