You arguably are a piece away from having a roster that can compete for a title. You can’t roll into the season with (1) a guy who couldn’t get on the floor last year, (2) a major project big, and Ward. And I love Ward but he’s 6’8”. Have to have higher standards here. It’s MSU.

Unpopular take: I think there is a solid chance that MSU is just fine at the center position with Jesse McCulloch, Ethan Taylor, and Cam Ward playing a little small-ball center from time to time. Adding a center from the portal is an insurance policy.

The market is getting thin for bigs. Bonke has some upside but I think it takes two years to get there. He started playing hoops at 16 and looks it at times. Moves well laterally and has some pop vertically but he’s a project. Personally don’t see him as a clear cut P5 starter.

Charlotte transfer Anton Bonke is visiting Kansas today and Michigan State on Friday, his agent Scott Nichols of @Rize_Management told ESPN. Will then visit Cincinnati, NC State, South Carolina and Clemson. Bonke is also considering Arkansas, TCU, USC and Gonzaga. 7-2 center averaged 10.6 PPG, 8.3 RPG and 1.5 BPG.

Charleston big man Christian Reeves will enter the transfer portal, his agent Nate Conley told @TheFieldOf68.
The 7-2 grad averaged 11.1 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks this past season - and really played well the second half of the season.
Reeves started his career Duke, then Clemson and last year at Charleston.

Update: as of 10:50am, Indiana insiders have confirmed Sherrell has told MSU he will not be making an MSU visit.

As of 9am, Hoosier insiders feeling still confident even saying “Indiana’s battle to lose” Theyve stated before that Indiana was ok with overpaying for a few players they really wanted and Aiden Sherrell was one of them. “It appears Sherrells package is lucrative” Theyve also mentioned Duke appears to be going elsewhere, still no confirmation on if MSU is getting a visit or not.
