⚡️⭕️Message of Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution On the occasion of the fortieth day of the martyrdom of the great leader of the Revolution (may God sanctify his pure soul) and important matters related to the Third Imposed War 20/1/1405 [April 9, 2026] In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful "Indeed, We have granted you a clear victory, so that God may forgive your past and future sins, complete His blessing upon you, guide you on a straight path, and grant you a mighty victory." Forty days have passed since one of the greatest crimes of the enemies of Islam and Iran, and one of the heaviest public sorrows in the history of this nation: the heart-wrenching martyrdom of the great leader of the Islamic Revolution, the father of the Iranian nation and the leader of the Islamic Ummah, the guide of truth-seekers in the present age, the master of the martyrs of Iran and the Resistance Front, the great Khamenei, may God sanctify his pure soul. For forty days, the lofty spirit of our martyred leader has been a guest at the feast of the saints, the truthful, and the martyrs in the nearness of God, and simultaneously or in the wake of that, a great number of companions, commanders, and fighters of Islam, and oppressed compatriots from newborns of a few days to the elderly have also attained this great blessing. For forty nights and days, God Almighty has summoned the leader of this Ummah to His appointed meeting. But this time, unlike what happened in the era of Moses (Kalimullah), the companions of the martyred leader and his Ummah were raised to uphold truth and confront falsehood. They stood firm like immovable mountains against the Samiri and his golden calf, and descended like molten lava upon the aggressors and the Pharaonic forces. For forty nights and days, the arrogant powers of the world have removed their deceptive and false masks and displayed the hideous and satanic face of murder and oppression, aggression and lies, tyranny and child-killing, and despotism and corruption. But on the other side, for forty days and nights, the valiant children of the great Khomeini and the beloved martyred Khamenei, and the followers of pure Muhammadan Islam (peace be upon him and his family), with exemplary dedication and courage, have been present in the battlefields, streets, and combat trenches. Despite the blows and damages of the enemy's savage assault, they have turned the Third Imposed War into the arena of the Third Sacred Defense. The aware and vigilant nation of Iran, although it showed that it mourns the great loss of its martyred leader, following the direct inheritors of the Husayni Ashura, turned this grief into epic and from elegy crafted battle cries. All of this has thrown the enemy, armed to the teeth, into bewilderment and desperation, and has earned the admiration of the free people of the world. This time, the ignorance and foolishness of the arrogant powers caused the month of Esfand 1404 to become the beginning of a new chapter in the rise and empowerment of Iran and the Islamic Revolution, and the flag of Islamic Iran to be raised not only in the geographical territory of our country but in the depths of the hearts of truth-seekers around the world. Characteristics and Talents of the Martyred Leader This occasion is a good opportunity to briefly introduce the great leader. We speak of a man who was as famous as he was unknown. Everyone knows that our martyred leader was a time-conscious and insightful jurist, a tireless fighter as steadfast and firm as a mountain, a learned scholar who practiced what he preached and was godly, devoted to remembrance, night prayer, supplication before the Lord, and seeking intercession through the sacred beings of the Infallibles (peace be upon them all), and from the depths of his soul, a believer in God's promises. Among his other qualities was his love of Iran and his continuous effort for the ever-greater independence of dear Iran, alongside which he emphasized national unity and solidarity. He spent a lifetime striving to establish the Islamic system and its endurance, and at the same time, the Islamic Republic without the people was meaningless in his view. While possessing authority and firmness, he had an abundant share of subtlety in thought and perspective on affairs. He paid special attention to the capacities of the country, especially the youth. He valued science, technology, and progress under its shade. He held the noble families of martyrs, veterans, and selfless individuals in special esteem. In various areas, he possessed weighty and accumulated experiences, some spanning several decades, and numerous other qualities that would constitute a long list. These days, some media repeatedly speak of his art, art appreciation, and art patronage. This element, while it alone can create great value for one's personality, and certainly existed in our dear leader in its truest and highest sense, appears small in comparison with his other existential attributes and distinctions. I personally know of multiple talents of his: One great talent of his, which receives less attention, was the art of educating and nurturing society through shaping the thoughts, morale, and emotions of great masses of people and social groups. Another talent was his purposeful institution-building, which he undertook especially in the early years of his leadership with an eye toward distant horizons. Another talent was his effort to strengthen the country's military structure, the positive effects of which the Iranian nation witnessed and benefited from in the two recent imposed wars. Likewise, the power of creativity and innovation in various dimensions, including scientific, strategic, and policymaking, was among his other talents, a glimpse of which is reflected in the formulation of the system's general policies. And also the power to create meaning through the timely coining of novel words and phrases, each carrying a wealth of meanings, from which public discourse emerged. And among them, a talent that was produced by the polishing of his lofty spirit through hardships, trials, and tribulations, and through patience and steadfastness on the path of truth, was the art of foreseeing events, as "the believer sees by the light of God." And other talents that cannot be enumerated in this brief space. All these talents and virtues had no source other than the special divine grace and the special attention of our master and his pure forefathers, peace be upon them all. Perhaps what attracted these graces and attentions toward that great man can be summarized in his ceaseless and sincere struggle in the path of exalting the word of truth. But specifically, apart from the hardships of fighting against the treacherous apparatus of the Pahlavi regime, he greatly benefited from another special opportunity in the course of fulfilling his duty, which the general public usually does not know about. It was destined that the young Seyyed, intensely eager for knowledge and of course seeking action, at a time when his noble father was on the verge of blindness, after years of sitting at the feet of high-ranking scholars, would abandon all the outward grounds for scholarly advancement and a promising future in Qom, and trusting in divine grace, devote himself to his father. The divine favor following this sacrifice manifested in such a way that suddenly Seyyed Ali Khamenei, before the age of thirty, rose like a sun from Khorasan and was soon regarded as one of the intellectual and revolutionary pillars, while also making notable progress in conventional sciences. So much so that in the 1350s [1970s], the SAVAK apparatus had called him "the Khomeini of Khorasan." I must emphasize that this process of inner and outer advancement of that great man continued in subsequent periods as well. Now, in learning from the conduct of great figures, and especially such a personality, it is very fitting that we adopt this quality of sincere goodwill toward one another and compassion as our practice, for this quality, coupled with having regard for God's vast mercy, is an important difference between one who stands under the banner of truth and those who have gathered around the banner of falsehood. Certainly, pursuing such a practice will open the gates of heaven and bring down all kinds of divine and unseen aid, from the descent of the rain of mercy to victory over the enemy and even scientific and technological progress. In these days, it is repeatedly heard that various groups of beloved people rightfully and with longing recall that unique era, and gradually more facets of the luminous gem of his exalted personality are revealed. Likewise, the practice of emulating certain actions of that noble figure gradually becomes more widespread. For instance, our beloved people learned lessons from his clenched fist at the moment of martyrdom, and now this same clenched fist has become for some a shared symbol of belief. This is how it is proven once again that the impact of a martyr is greater than that of a living person, and his resounding voice in calling toward monotheism, truth-seeking, and fighting oppression and corruption is more resonant and his message more penetrating than during his lifetime. And likewise, the heartfelt wish of this great martyr, which was the happiness of this nation and other Muslim nations, has from before drawn closer to reality. Victory of the Heroic Nation of Iran in the Third Imposed War Brothers and sisters, compatriots! Today and up to this point in the Third Sacred Defense, it can be boldly said that you, the heroic nation of Iran, have been the definitive victors of this arena. Today, the dawn of the Islamic Republic's emergence as a great power and the positioning of arrogance on the slope of decline is visible before everyone's eyes. This is undoubtedly a divine blessing that has been bestowed upon the Iranian nation through the blessings of the blood of our martyred leader and other martyrs shrouded in blood, and the oppressed compatriots and the blossomed flowers of the Shajareh Tayyebeh school of Minab, and through the supplications and pleas of all members of the nation before the Lord and their devoted presence in the squares, neighborhoods, and mosques, and because of the unstinting and sincere sacrifices of the warriors ready to give their lives for Islam in the IRGC, Army, FARAJA, unnamed soldiers, and border guards. This blessing, like any other blessing, must be met with gratitude so that it endures and grows, as "If you are grateful, I will surely increase you." The practical gratitude for this blessing is ceaseless effort to achieve a strong Iran. The Importance of the Continued Presence of the People in the Arena What currently appears necessary for achieving this slogan and strategic goal of the martyred leader is the continuation of the presence of our beloved people, just like the forty days they have left behind. This presence is an important pillar of the stature that a powerful Iran now occupies. Therefore, it should not be assumed that with the announcement of the intention for negotiations with the enemy, presence in the streets is no longer necessary. Rather, even if hypothetically the time has come for a period of silence on the military battlefield, the duty of all people who have the ability to be present in the squares, neighborhoods, and mosques appears heavier than before. Certainly, your cries in the squares are effective in the outcome of negotiations, just as the astonishing and growing number of millions in the "Ready to Sacrifice for Iran" campaign is also among the influential elements in this arena. By the grace of God Almighty, through this role-playing and its continuation, the horizon before the Iranian nation heralds the emergence of a glorious, brilliant era full of dignity, pride, and prosperity for them. When our martyred leader assumed the leadership, the Islamic Republic was like a sapling upon which many wounds from the enemies of Islam and Iran had been inflicted, and of course he had borne them all well. But when, after nearly 37 years, he left the seat of leadership of the Ummah, he left behind a blessed tree whose roots are firm and whose branches and leaves cast a shadow over important parts of the region and the world. The approach of achieving an "ever-stronger Iran" passes through unity among different segments of society, which he repeatedly emphasized. A notable degree of this unity was realized in these forty days: people's hearts drew closer, the ice between different segments with different orientations began to melt, everyone gathered under the banner of the homeland, and day by day the number and quality of this gathering increases. Many of those who have not yet participated in this kind of presence are, in their hearts, in step and in agreement with the crowds present in the squares. These days, many people experience a civilizational gaze by looking toward distant horizons, and they create for themselves an image that is not imaginary but based on the realities of the present and the future. This is a quality that until recently was seen only in the small group at whose head the martyred leader stood. This is how every observer perceives the rapid and miraculous growth of this nation, and it is not without reason that in these days, the renowned sage of the era and the eminent jurist, when he speaks to you about this dignity, repeatedly has a lump in his throat blocking his words. Remarks Regarding the Southern Neighbors, Reparations for Damages, and Blood Money for the Martyrs In this same space, I say to Iran's southern neighbors: you are witnessing a miracle. So see correctly, understand correctly, stand in the right place, and be suspicious of the false promises of the devils. We are still waiting for an appropriate response from you so that we may show you our brotherhood and goodwill. This will not happen unless you turn away from the arrogant powers who never miss an opportunity to humiliate and exploit you. Everyone should know this: by God's permission, we will certainly not let go of the criminal aggressors who attacked our country. We will certainly demand reparations for each and every damage inflicted, and the blood money of the martyrs and compensation for the veterans of this war, and we will certainly bring the management of the Strait of Hormuz into a new phase. We have not sought and do not seek war, but we will in no way relinquish our rightful rights, and in this regard, we consider the entire Resistance Front as a unified whole. Recommendations to All Members of the Nation At this juncture, until we reach what belongs to us: first, all members of the nation should strive to look after one another so that the shortages that are the natural effect of any war place less pressure on different segments. Of course, these shortages, which incidentally are far greater on the opposing side, have been managed to a considerable degree thanks to the efforts of your brothers and sisters in the government and other institutions. Third, although the beloved nation, with the end of the official mourning period for the martyrdom of its great leader, removes the garb of mourning, it keeps alive in its spirit and heart the resolute determination for vengeance for his pure blood and the blood of all the martyrs of the Second and Third Imposed Wars, and will constantly be on the lookout for its realization. In closing, I address our master, may God hasten his noble relief, and submit that we, with faith in God Almighty and seeking intercession through the Infallible Imams (peace be upon them), and following the example of our martyred leader, stand under your banner and against the front of disbelief and arrogance. In this path, we have offered precious martyrs from various walks of life for the cause of the dignity and independence of the country and the elevation of Islam and the Islamic Revolution, and we have suffered other losses as well. Now, with all our being, we are hopeful for your special prayer for decisive victory over the enemy, both in the arena of negotiations and on the battlefield, and we hope that as soon as possible, both we and our enemies will witness its miraculous effect, God willing.
