Armed robbery early this morning of a @cta blue line rider at Lombard.
From Police: Victim exited the CTA Blue Line at Lombard at 12:48 a.m. and was followed off the train by a male subject. The offender pointed a black/brown Glock handgun at victim and demanded his jewelry. Victim gave offender a 14k gold ring w/ diamond and a gold chain with a locket/diamond. Offender last seen running W/B on Flournoy.

A violent offender was arrested Monday morning at an apartment on Washington Blvd. 33yo Martise Carroll was arrested for holding a knife to a woman's throat and then choking her in efforts to force her to have sexual relations. Victim escaped and contacted police.
The victim declined to cooperate so felony charges were declined by the assist states atty. Carroll was processed on a misdemeanor and held for bond court.

Two women were stabbed with a knife at the Lake Theater on Sunday evening.
From Police:
A female stabbed two victims with a knife after they were involved in a fight at Lake Theater. One of the victims sustained a scratch on her face, the other a laceration to the arm. Offender fled in an unknown direction. 🔪🎭

Two 21-year old women were arrested following a ruckus at the Cajun Boil last night in which in a cop was punched in the face. 👮♂️🦞 From police: 🤜Jabree Hawkins of Chicago was arrested for criminal damage to property of the restaurant and also aggravated battery to a police officer. She was held for bond hearings. 🤜Dejana Dawson of Chicago was arrested for battery of a Berwyn resident. She was given a notice to appear citation.

A representative from Brinks reported that while traveling southbound at Austin/Jackson the backdoor opened by unknown means and three bags full of US currency fell out. When they returned to the area they observed 50-100 people removing money from the scene and fleeing the area on foot and in vehicles. Estimated loss $300,000

A 29-year old man was arrested this week after walking into the police station lobby and asking for his gun back.
From police:
Andres Mena walked into the Oak Park police station and attempted to retrieve his firearm that was being held for safekeeping. Investigation revealed on March 31 his firearm was located inside an unlocked red Nissan Rogue that was parked (possibly abandoned) in the Fenwick parking lot. Mena was arrested for "possession of concealed firearm in prohibited areas," charged, processed, issued a Notice to Appear Citation and was released.

Elmwood Park recently started using ShotSpotter. Last month it was used in the arrest of two men involved in a shots-fired incident. Cops also recovered a gun and bullet casings. This video shows ShotSpotter's detection of the gunshots.
