Here is what Johnson left out of his podium performance: ICE is not shut down. ICE has $75 billion from the Big Beautiful Bill. ICE is fully operational. TSA is shut down. The people waiting four and a half hours at the airport are paying for an arrangement Johnson's caucus refused to change when Democrats offered to pass the other five bills clean and negotiate DHS separately.
Johnson is furious at Democrats for the consequences of his own procedural choice.
The accountability he is trying to avoid is the reason two American names are in this thread.

Nope. The Senate passed a bill to fund EVERYTHING except ICE, who already HAVE funding. They passed it UNANIMOUSLY. Take this up with Mike Johnson who refused to bring the bill to the House floor for a vote.

Malone describes the environment as guerrilla warfare. When Kennedy asked him to stay on, he said no.

Thanks to Democrats’ shutdown, TSA workers have gone 85 DAYS without a paycheck and the resources they need to keep us safe. Meanwhile, these same DC Democrats — who make over 3x MORE — keep collecting paychecks because they say they have bills to pay. WHAT ABOUT TSA WORKERS?! THEY HAVE BILLS, TOO!
