Many comments are saying “Who cares! The buses are segregated and it was wrong!”
I concur. And I agree that it needed a national spotlight to trigger change.
However, lying also matters.
People deserved to know that iconic photo was staged. They deserved to know that it was a targeted setup. They need to know this was planned with journalists ready to act:
Why?
Because most of American believes the legend that Rosa Parks was just a random woman on the bus.
Yes, I am glad she helped change the unjust practices.
But when deceptive tactics are used, people deserve to know, lest they believe the legend, and then hear the truth.
Why?
Because they are often devastated to know it was a setup, and they question further events as a result.
When you do that to someone, you cheapen your cause, even if it was well meaning, and you harm future generations.
And we wonder why people doubt the moon landing or the post war consensus? When lies are all we have left, no common ground can ever be found.

My friend, secession does not equal war and is not an act of war. The former is a peaceful act of self determination. Let us go in peace. Lincoln provoked war by committing an act of war. This was his intention all along because the Northern people didn't want war. Lincoln was satisfied that SC was provoked to fire a bloodless first shot and said so privately in a letter afterwards. This was used by Lincoln to change public opinion in the North.

If we care about the truth, then we should prefer the most correct description in naming a war. The War of Northern Aggression or The War for Southern Independence are the most accurate ways to describe and name the conflict. Calling it a Civil War was always absurd and misleading. The War Between the States is minimally true but incomplete in meaning. The WBTS was a popular and acceptable compromise during the Reconciliation period. But since the Yankees have unilaterally canceled this truce and are engaging in a Marxist-inspired cultural Cold War against the South, the name WBTS should also be canceled. Since words have meaning and can change narratives, we should return to the basic understanding of that war and restate the truth.

@JasonOzolins As you can see from one of the replies to my post, the teachers were just repeating a lie published by Martin Luther King in 1958.
Of course the fact that MLK’s story was a lie doesn’t change the effect of the bus boycott. But I still think it’s relevant to other questions.
