Senate Republicans are spending their weekend lying about the SAVE Act and attacking the right to vote. If you want to know where this bill came from, what is does and why the GOP is so desperate to pass it, read what I wrote. Then share it with others. democracydocket.com/opinion/the-sa…

Its time to start hearing from the husbands and men in general on this. #Enough #SaveActSucks
DulceBiatch@BiatchDulce

House Republicans blocked an amendment by Rep. Brittany Pettersen (D‑CO) that would have ensured no eligible married woman could be denied the right to vote because her ID didn’t match her married name. The amendment was part of a fight against the MAGA backed SAVE America Act. The legislation pushed hard by Donald Trump to try and rig the midterm elections. Trump says if the Save Act is passed, Democrats will be shut out of power “for fifty years.” Pettersen called out the hypocrisy: “Donald Trump is the man who incited a violent insurrection after losing a free and fair election that wants to rig the election before it’s even happened.” “He’s doing everything possible to stop people from showing up on election day including making it harder for women to stay registered to vote…” Her amendment wasn’t just about women. It also aimed to protect younger voters and people of color from barriers built into the bill. But Republicans shot it down, showing whose side they’re really on: rigging elections, not protecting voters. Pettersen says she’s disappointed but not deterred, promising to continue the fight for fair, accessible elections where every eligible American especially married women can cast their ballot without obstruction. This is voter suppression disguised as “election integrity.” #SayNoToTheSaveAct

Bob Mueller was one of the finest directors in the history of the FBI, transforming the bureau after 9/11 and saving countless lives. But it was his relentless commitment to the rule of law and his unwavering belief in our bedrock values that made him one of the most respected public servants of our time. Michelle and I send our condolences to Bob’s family, and everyone who knew and admired him.

Donald Trump is a man of very low character whose whole life demonstrates it. Robert Mueller was a man of very high character whose whole life demonstrated it. The great division in our country is between people who understand these basic facts, and those who reject them. From the citation accompanying the Bronze Star (with V for combat valor) that Marine Second Lieutenant Robert Mueller received for his actions in 1968, during the Vietnam War—the war Trump avoided: “With complete disregard for his own safety, he then skillfully supervised the evacuation of casualties from the hazardous area and, on one occasion, personally led a fire team across the fire-swept area terrain to recover a mortally wounded Marine who had fallen in a position forward of the friendly lines.” Months later, still serving our country in the war that Trump avoided, Mueller was wounded again, shot in the leg. “I consider myself exceptionally lucky to have made it out of Vietnam,” Mueller told author Garrett Graff years later. “There were many—many—who did not. And perhaps because I did survive Vietnam, I have always felt compelled to contribute." Robert Mueller went on to serve our country honorably in many other ways. His rock-solid integrity as a public official—and as a private citizen—will stand as an example and inspiration to all who learn about him, long after Donald Trump is gone.

Washington DC is not the President’s personal real estate empire. Our public buildings belong to the people.  The courts need to put a stop to the President’s backdoor efforts to remake our nation’s national landmarks and ruin our collective history.  That’s why I introduced the Federal Facilities Protection and Oversight Act—to protect our historic federal buildings and ensure no president can demolish or remake them on a whim. Because our heritage belongs to all of us! thehill.com/newsletters/th…

These fucking morons are allowing Iran to get $14 billion in the middle of a war against them. This is the biggest, dumbest concession ever given to Iran by the US and all you need to know about what a disaster Trump’s policy is.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent@SecScottBessent

Iran is the head of the snake for global terrorism, and through President Trump’s Operation Epic Fury, we are winning this critical fight at an even faster pace than anticipated. In response to Iran’s terrorist attacks against global energy infrastructure, the Trump Administration will continue to deploy America’s economic and military might to maximize the flow of energy to the world, strengthen global supply, and seek to ensure market stability. Today, the Department of the Treasury is issuing a narrowly tailored, short-term authorization permitting the sale of Iranian oil currently stranded at sea. At present, sanctioned Iranian oil is being hoarded by China on the cheap. By temporarily unlocking this existing supply for the world, the United States will quickly bring approximately 140 million barrels of oil to global markets, expanding the amount of worldwide energy and helping to relieve the temporary pressures on supply caused by Iran. In essence, we will be using the Iranian barrels against Tehran to keep the price down as we continue Operation Epic Fury. This temporary, short-term authorization is strictly limited to oil that is already in transit and does not allow new purchases or production. Further, Iran will have difficulty accessing any revenue generated and the United States will continue to maintain maximum pressure on Iran and its ability to access the international financial system. So far, the Trump Administration has been working to bring around 440 million additional barrels of oil to the global market, undercutting Iran’s ability to leverage its disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz. President Trump’s pro-energy agenda has driven U.S. oil and gas production to record levels, strengthening energy security and lowering fuel costs. Any short-term disruption now will ultimately translate into longer-term economic gains for Americans – because there is no prosperity without security.

A leaked video secretly recorded inside an ICE detention facility reveals women living in shocking and desperate conditions — footage allegedly smuggled out with the help of a detainee’s husband. The video shows used underwear, moldy food, broken shoes, clothing designed for men that doesn’t fit female detainees, and mattresses reportedly made from toxic insulation materials. One of the women, Gabriela Sousa, entered the United States legally under a humanitarian parole program for Venezuelans and is married to a U.S. citizen. Supporters say she has been held for months at the Baker County ICE Detention Center in Macclenny, Florida, without a bond hearing. According to testimonies recorded in secret, several women detained together describe what they call inhumane living conditions inside the facility. The video was filmed covertly and later smuggled out to expose what detainees claim is happening behind closed doors. Keep talking, keep sharing.
