@johnredwood Seat belts? In trains? It's not a jet plane doing loop the loop stunts.

@realsashastone I'm with Elliott on that one. Norhing in The Departed rang true.
English

People are re-evaluating Scorsese because Killers of the Flower Moon was so bad but The Departed is one of the best films ever made, Heat is great, too.
stephen elliott@S___Elliott
Heat is so much better than The Departed. It's an insult to Heat to even have the posters next to each other. Heat is one of the top 5 crime movies ever made. The Departed is possibly Scorcese's worst movie, certainly among his lesser works.

@Alexarmstrong True. The Manchester Man hasn't been fully exposed, which he will be within weeks of him taking power. A snap election could give him five years and-we-are-fucked.
English

@TRobinsonNewEra At least the British government, particularly the Home Secretary, will keep quiet about it so they don't prejudice the trial ... Oh, I see she has already shot her mouth off.
English

Now it's my fault that a random Scottish man apparently attacked some Muslims?
He literally said in the clip why he was angry, and allegedly he attacked 5 people?
And his reasoning was about abhorrent crimes committed by your community, nothing to do with me or Rupert.

This is on you.

@ManOfKent15 @decoyposts Oh, give the French some credit. They despise him.

@decoyposts China, Ukraine, Pakistan. France. He’s squirreled millions to all of them.

@jfkenney Damn. No wonder I'm unlucky in love. I can never get people's names right. 😪

@JasonBassler1 Because once a low-trust society is embedded, you can't get it back to being a high trust society without jailing all those who robbed it of trust.

@UkandNireland Starmer didn't have a "mandate" to do the damage he did. None of his crimes against the British people, from cancelling free speech, jury trials, ordering Digital ID, weaponising the police against native Britons, were in his "mandate".

@PaulSutton66 @SeeDeeMcLeod @Sb65gt The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one they said woooaaaaaaaa
English

@SBarrettBar 1. He hates Britain and British people.
2. Everything he says is a lie.
3. He doesn't know right from wrong.
English

@MinessotaFatBl2 @74frankfurt He loses half a mark for not using the words 'Ken Russell', which is what famously links Glenda and Oliver.
English

@PaulSutton66 @74frankfurt I can't get angry at someone who admires Oliver Reed and Glenda Jackson. Kerr was in badass mode.
English

@BasilTheGreat Please let it be I've packed my bags and gone, and not a BBC resignation where he will "stay in the job for just a few years more".
English

@HorrorPaperback Sorry I can by messages mixed. I thought you were talking about Danny Boyle. Yes, like all true artists Graham has a unique style (and pallette, or however one spells that art thing).
English

@PaulSutton66 His style is instantly recognisable. So good.
English

@HorrorPaperback Danny Boyle is very good. I didn't care for The Beach or the Indian one, but he is probably the best British filmmaker of his generation, IMO, excepting Lynne Ramsay of course.
English

@MinessotaFatBl2 @74frankfurt Yes. Philby was not England's greatest man. My excuse for Kerr is that Philby was then popular of sorts because of the play/film Another Country, with Rupert Everett, which made him a sympathetic anti-British-Establishment figure. Having said that the play/film came later.
English

@insomniaco13 It did. The comedy show helped. I was working at an amusement park, and I was skinny & ginger-haired and looked like Shaggy in Scooby Doo. A van was involved that had my DNA in it. The police did ask was I the parkl's caretaker. Really!
English

@PaulSutton66 Thank you for sharing this. Truly a horror movie like experience. I hope writing the book helps you in some way, and that it also allows you to create something meaningful from such a painful experience.

The Serpent and the Rainbow (1988), pues.
