Months ago, I wrote that this year would be a year of convergence. I have been all over the place — from control systems to complexity science, from agent-based simulation to satellite deep learning and oceanographic modeling, from consulting to research to leadership, and more.
My career has been deeply interesting in that sense, almost like a complex system itself, exhibiting emergent behavior over time. It takes patience and a certain depth of understanding to truly appreciate such a journey.
I am writing this as a reflection, partly to calm myself, because I have been going through a difficult phase before this convergence could fully take shape.
Now, I feel like I can finally see the surface. I find myself viewing problems from a far more systemic/mechanistic perspective, rather than through the narrow, dictionary-search mindset or the rigid playbook approach often used for textbook or bootcamp-style problems.
Cheers.
