Earlier today, I accompanied the Presidential Envoy, Hon. @OmarHashi114, to a productive meeting with Mr. @PycroftC, Development Director for @UKinSomalia. Discussions focused on strengthening efforts to enhance ongoing stabilization & civilian protection initiatives in #Somalia.

So uplifting to join the conference on ending FGM this morning - hearing brave stories from activists, MPs and government from #Somaliland, Kenya, Djibouti and Ethiopia. Change needs to come from within the region - 🇬🇧 is proud to support the African-Led Movement to #EndFGM

The @UNinPak briefed member states on our efforts to support the education emergency declared by govt. We are supporting 🇵🇰 efforts to reduce out-of-school children, close the access gap & address the financing gap, inline with @antonioguterres call for shift in our approach.

The UK is proud to support the fantastic work of @TheHALOTrust in Somalia and Somaliland (and elsewhere around the world). It was a pleasure meeting HALO’s Regional Director and new Country Director this week to build on the very successful work they are doing. @UKinSomalia

Had a productive meeting with FCDO Director of Development @PycroftC. We discussed our shared climate objectives, progress on the Taskforce for Access to Climate Finance, and plans for #COP29. Grateful for the UK's support as Somalia takes its seat at the UN Security Council. Together, we can make a significant impact!

Access to finance is a barrier to growth in Somalia. Had the chance to discuss with the @gargaara_ CEO Suleiman Dualeh who is finding innovative ways to support SMMEs in 🇸🇴.
