It is 10pm and Thune just got unanimous consent (meaning not one senator objected) for the Senate to adjourn 19 days (July 13th) meaning the Senate is going home after tonight’s votes. I will not be voting to re-open the floor until the Senate gets back to Washington. The Senate is literally running and not ONE senator objected to going on vacation before 4th of July. John Thune is running and hiding because he doesn’t want to get voter ID across the finish line.

During her Obama era support indicates frequent cross party alignment on many roll calls hundreds over her career up to that point, especially on issues like spending, health care nuances, and Alaska specific matters. In later years during (Biden era), she voted with Biden’s positions at high rates initially (67–79% in some periods), consistent with her moderate stance.

Last week, I warned Mayor Brandon Johnson that Juneteenth has historically been one of Chicago's most violent weekends and asked if he would accept President Trump's offer to help. He dismissed the warning, rejected the help, and called President Trump an "absolute miserable failure."
Then came the weekend: 8 murdered, 39 shot, including a Juneteenth mass shooting.
Today, I reminded the Mayor that I warned him this was coming and asked the question real Chicagoans are asking: after 8 murders and 39 shootings, who is the real miserable failure?
He never answered. Instead, he blamed everyone else.
I also asked why Chicago is down roughly 2,000 police officers while he and his wife, Stacy, are protected by a security detail of more than 150 officers. If Chicago is so safe, why not put some of those officers back on the streets to protect real Chicagoans?
When I kept pressing, Mayor Johnson tried to shut me down. I reminded him that I have First Amendment rights. His response: "You can just free yourself on out of here because I'm not answering anything else from you."
Then, when I exited the press room, four Chicago Police officers were waiting for me. In my opinion, that wasn't a coincidence. It was intimidation.
I warned him. He ignored it. Chicago paid the price. That's the opinion of this reporter.

The license for the Iranian regime to sell oil doesn’t seem to fit with POTUS's promise that the proceeds of any relief will go to the USA via agriculture purchases. Allowing money from China (which will be the primary crude purchaser) to go straight to designated terrorists the IRGC (which controls vast swaths of Iranian oil industry) would increase the risk that Iran will rebuild its military capabilities, fund terrorism and cement its hegemony of Hormuz. We must not allow our very real gains to be reversed by rehabilitating this irredeemable regime.

We must not forget the 2,977 innocent people killed in the 9/11 attacks.
