Leaving Sweden after productive NATO meetings. The goal is to have a NATO that is strong. The stronger our NATO Allies are, the stronger NATO is going to be.

Met today with Turkish Foreign Minister @HakanFidan to talk about the continued strategic necessity for all Allies to meet their defense commitments and plans for the upcoming NATO Summit in Turkiye. We also discussed opening the Strait of Hormuz and working toward greater regional stability.

🚨Joint Statement on Arctic Security from the Arctic Allies: Recognizing the security challenges and economic opportunities in the Arctic and the High North, the Arctic Allies met to discuss our efforts to build a secure and prosperous region. The Arctic is quickly becoming a sphere of increasing geopolitical strategic importance. With Russia’s increased military activity and China’s growing strategic interest, we seek to bolster stability in the Arctic region. We are enhancing our military presence, surveillance capabilities, and joint training in the Arctic and the High North. We do so in a coordinated and calibrated way. We support NATO’s increased presence in the region through activities such as Arctic Sentry, Air Policing in Iceland, and Forward Land Forces Finland, as well as the ongoing strengthening of the Joint Forces Command in Norfolk, a new CAOC in Norway and the ongoing modernization of NORAD. Today, we have agreed to deepen our dialogue on security challenges in the Arctic and the High North. With new opportunities opening up, and new challenges emerging, close cooperation on Arctic security and economic development among our nations is more important than ever – as Europe and Canada are assuming a greater responsibility for deterrence and defense across the region. We also recognize the importance of economic and resource development in the Arctic and have tasked our experts to coordinate more closely on these issues, including research security, investment screening, and critical infrastructure modernization and protection. We look forward to continuing to work together to achieve our common goal of a secure, prosperous, and peaceful Arctic.

I met with @SwedishPM Kristersson after the NATO Foreign Ministers Meeting. We agreed on the importance of strengthening transatlantic defense cooperation. Pleased to have signed the U.S.-Sweden Technology Prosperity Deal with @MariaStenergard.

At the NATO Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Sweden. Thankful for our great allies who've met their commitments to defense spending, proving that alliances are partnerships, not one way streets.

In my meeting with @SecGenNATO I underscored that the Alliance must unambiguously commit at the upcoming Ankara Summit to rapidly scale defense production, expand our transatlantic defense industrial base, and turn spending commitments into real warfighting capabilities. A stronger Europe means a stronger NATO.

Adys Lastres Morera is the sister of the Executive President of GAESA, the Cuban military-controlled financial conglomerate that steals millions in aid for the Cuban people at the behest of the regime. Morera was managing real estate assets and living in Florida, while also aiding Havana's communist regime, until I terminated her permanent resident status. I am pleased to announce that today, she was arrested and is now in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. There will be nowhere on this Earth - much less in our country - where foreign nationals who threaten our national security can live lavishly.

Thanks to PM Andrej Babiš and all of the healthcare professionals in Prague who are taking care of the American evacuated from the Ebola outbreak. We are deeply appreciative for Czechia’s help.

I am proud of the outstanding leadership Robert Gabriel has delivered as Principal Deputy National Security Advisor. In just one year, he has supercharged the White House NSC, accelerated interagency work on President Trump’s top priorities, and partnered with the Cabinet to achieve historic wins. Robert’s intimate understanding of the President’s foreign policy agenda, his decade-long relationships across the U.S. Government, and his unmatched ability to solve complex problems have made him successful. I am grateful for his service and friendship.

Let there be no mistake: the United States stands squarely in support of Bolivia's legitimate constitutional government. We will not allow criminals and drug traffickers to overthrow democratically elected leaders in our hemisphere.

Spoke with UN Secretary-General @antonioguterres about advancing @POTUS’ vision for a more effective, efficient, and accountable @UN focused on peace. I emphasized Luke Lindberg is the right leader for @WFP—his appointment is essential to ensuring @UN operates with the transparency and accountability required to feed the world. We also discussed U.S. efforts at the UN to stop Iran’s unlawful actions in the Strait of Hormuz, and how the U.S. rapidly mobilized resources to support the response to the #Ebola outbreak in the DRC and Uganda.

From our country’s beginning, for as long as America has embodied freedom and exceptionalism, the soul of our nation has been rooted in the Christian faith. Today we gather, as our forefathers did on this day centuries ago, to rededicate our nation to God.
