Until recently, Hamideh Soleimani Afshar and her daughter were green card holders living lavishly in the United States. Afshar is the niece of deceased Iranian Major General Qasem Soleimani. She is also an outspoken supporter of the Iranian regime who celebrated attacks on Americans and referred to our country as the "Great Satan." This week, I terminated both Afshar and her daughter's legal status and they are now in ICE custody, pending removal from the United States. The Trump Administration will not allow our country to become a home for foreign nationals who support anti-American terrorist regimes.

SECRETARY RUBIO: I hear these news reports that we don’t know what the objectives are, and it’s very frustrating. Our objectives are clear: destroy their air force, navy, missile factories, and degrade their missile launchers.

From Day One, the mission was crystal clear: This was the final, best chance to wipe out Iran’s threat for good - so they can never have a nuclear weapon. @SecRubio breaks it down ⬇️

🚨 SECRETARY RUBIO: If NATO is just about us defending Europe if they’re attacked, but them denying us basing rights when we need them, then that’s not a very good arrangement. That’s a hard one to stay engaged in and say this is good for the United States.

SECRETARY RUBIO: You’re seeing civil life come back to life in Venezuela. Independent media is now allowed to operate. Political prisoners have been released. Political parties are forming again. People are speaking and participating in public life.

SECRETARY RUBIO: Cuba has a fundamental problem that they need to understand. And we’ve tried explain it to anyone who will listen: Their system of economics doesn’t work and you can’t change it unless you change the government.

SECRETARY RUBIO: The blackouts in Cuba have nothing to do with us. They’re having blackouts because they have equipment from the 1950s in their grid that has never been maintained or upgraded because their leaders are incompetent.

Our mission is clear. Iran will never obtain a nuclear weapon. In my meeting with the G7 foreign ministers, I reiterated that we must meet this moment with maximum partner contributions.

Today at the G7 I reiterated that President Trump is committed to reaching a ceasefire and negotiated settlement to the Russia-Ukraine war as soon as possible.
