Most people don't know this about me, but I was in a car a few vehicles back from Reginald Denny's truck during the LA riots in 1992. That day changed the way I looked at personal safety forever. On that day that I decided I was never going to be without a handgun minimum and rifle if possible in my vehicle. 60 people died during those riots. youtu.be/2EDlZF9soUk?si…

🧵 THREAD: Democrats TEACH voter identification and election integrity ... just not in America The Democratic Party has an international arm called the National Democratic Institute (NDI). It's funded by $181M/year in US tax dollars. Its board includes Stacey Abrams, Donna Brazile, and Tom Daschle. But in regards to today's SAVE America Act debate... did you know that the NDI has taught and supervised election processes all over the world? For 40 years, NDI has told every developing country on earth that voter ID is essential for election integrity. They've recommended biometric systems... yes, that's right, NDI recommended biometric systems, which goes way beyond SAVE America Act! They praised fingerprint verification. Tracked ID card issuance rates. Meanwhile, Democrats call the SAVE Act "Jim Crow 2.0." Same party. Same people. Opposite positions. As always, patience as I pull together the thread 👇

It has come to my attention that The BBC just aired a show portraying a character who sends FOI requests to the Home Office accusing the govt of covering up stats as an extremist. That’s literally my work as an FOI journalist. This is propaganda.

Seriously. Greeks were occupied on their own land for 400 years, 2nd class citizens, paying the "jizya" tax to their Muslim overlords who frequently stole their children to force convert and turn into soldiers (janissary troops) or brides. This only ended when the Greeks fought like hell to expel them starting in 1821. This should be the first thing they teach in school these days, it even deals with indigenous people fighting off an occupying force. So why isn't this one of the models?

He's getting dragged in the comments and deservedly so, but I'll put my 2¢ in nonetheless. This is a prime example of Eiland's Theory of Compensatory Misery. Instead of waking up at the crack of dawn every day to barely scrape by, gathering just enough food to survive and dying from the slightest infection, we now live a life of abject luxury. We have an immense amount of leisure time and because of this people assume this is the norm. That somehow life is primarily meant to be spent in leisure and anything that takes away from that is to be shunned and disregarded. Our lives are ridiculously easy. If I get sick I can just call out of work and lay in bed all day. I don't have to worry that my family won't eat because I didn't work the fields today or hunted down dinner. And yet this guy feels the need to complain about this. Life is stupidly wonderful and we would all be better off understanding this.

How do people in the suburbs genuinely look forward to Friday night on the couch, Saturday morning at Costco, and call that a weekend? Like you really moved out of the city just to LARP as your parents at 34?

Yes, because undocumented people typically enter the country through commercial flights that requires multiple identification checks, a visa, and being put through immigration scrutiny. Makes perfect sense.

Q: Will we see ICE arresting illegal migrants at airports? TRUMP: Yeah. That's why the Democrats are going crazy. ICE loves it because they're able to now arrest illegals as they come into the country. It's very fertile territory.

Name me one European Christian - or Jew, or Hindu or Jain - in the last 100 years who cut off a teacher’s head for talking about Jesus or Ganesh or whatever. I have no truck with religions. From what I have seen they are all often used by the vicious and the hypocritical as a cloak. And their gods allow it. But it also seems to me that only Islam has quite such a predisposition towards the murder of perceived apostates. Maybe now I will be arrested/investigated for Islamaphobia. Safe to say I no longer care.

@SVPhillimore But many Christians do all kinds of heinous shit. A hundred times more than Muslims.

Midwestern Nice derives from centuries of Northern European peasants developing helpful relationships with everyone in the village so they don’t all freeze to death. Southern politesse is about not accidentally starting a blood feud or a duel.

Midwesterners are nice. Southerners are polite and may or may not be nice. Many of the most polite southerners I know are decidedly not nice.

This is rip tide and drowning awareness month. (I made that up.) Drowning doesn’t look like anything, the kid plops in and sinks. Hire a lifeguard if you’re having a party. Most drownings are when a parent is present. Everyone assumes someone is keeping an eye out. No one is.

Ms. Rachel is insanely popular among 2 and 3 year olds. AIPAC went after Ms. Rachel as an anti-semite because she said that killing kids in Gaza is wrong. Her response was to teach every toddler in the English speaking world to count to ten in Arabic. She's a badass.

And of course, the bull in this particular china shop is neither parental rape nor abuse by an uncle or cousin, but sexual abuse by a *stepparent* A child living with a stepparent, statistically, increases their odds of being sexually abused 40 times over. Grim stuff!

“The nuclear family allows for greater perpetration of sexual abuse” is a testable claim. What’s more likely, that a child is raped by a parent in a nuclear household, or by an extended family member (uncle, cousin, etc.) in a traditional household? (Hint: It’s not even close.)
