I met yesterday with the Canada–U.S. Inter-Parliamentary Group, including Canadian Senators and MPs to discuss the critical alliance with our neighbors to the north.
As Co-Chair of the Northern Border Caucus and the Representative of a district with multiple international bridges and strong ties to Canada, I know how vital our cross-border partnership is. Western New York’s relationship with Canada is unique and deeply interconnected, and strengthening cooperation on transportation, trade, and border operations is essential to our shared economy, communities, and values.

@HouseDemocrats will not send another penny of taxpayer dollars to an agency that has continuously shown blatant disregard towards the American people, the Constitution, and the rule of law.
Today, I signed the discharge petition to bring Ranking Member DeLauro’s legislation to the floor. Her bill funds TSA, FEMA, Coast Guard, CISA, and all of the agencies within the Department of Homeland Security that are not participating in unconstitutional, illegal mass deportations and violence on American streets.
Trump and Congressional Republicans made this mess – it is time for them to clean it up.

James A. Lewis IV was an extraordinary father, son, friend, and neighbor.
His legacy lives on in his children, his family, and the countless lives he touched. May we honor him by loving more deeply, serving more faithfully, and remembering that true greatness is found in everyday acts of kindness.

Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone!
While I wish I were in Buffalo, the Irish capital of America, it has been a busy 3 days down in Washington, full of celebration, community, and a reminder of the deep, enduring ties between Ireland and the United States – and that everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day!

After 3 years of obstruction from Republican leadership, Congress is finally honoring the bravery of the thousands of officers who responded to the violent insurrectionists that stormed our nation’s Capitol.
This is more than a plaque – it is a solemn reminder of the heroism hundreds of officers from across Washington showed on January 6th when Donald Trump and his followers attempted to upend our democracy.
House Democrats will continue to fight for those officers who had the courage to defend the Capitol, the Constitution, and the peaceful transfer of power when it mattered most.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day and Happy Irish Heritage Month!
While Donald Trump attacks immigrants, civil rights, and democracy itself, Irish Americans will continue fighting back against oppression and tyranny in any form.
We stand up for what’s right, look out for our neighbors, and carry forward a legacy of courage, resilience, and service that has shaped this nation for generations.

The Washington Ireland Program continues to drive forward peace and reconciliation across Ireland, equipping the next generation of leaders with the skills and connections to make a positive, lasting impact on society. 🇮🇪🇺🇸
Our nation takes great pride in our collective contribution to the peace process in Ireland, and initiatives like the Washington Ireland Program build on that progress. I’m grateful for the program’s dedication to preparing the next generation of leaders and advancing lasting peace in the region.

Donald Trump promised to end forever wars. He promised to lower costs. He promised to put America first.
$11.3 billion and counting. Seven American lives already lost. That's the cost of his illegal war of choice in the Middle East, while American families can't afford groceries, gas, or basic necessities.
More broken promises.

President Trump today on Iran: — "You never like to say too early you won. We won. We won the bet in the first hour. It was over. But we won." — "We've got to finish the job, right?" — "The main thing is we have to win this thing, win it quickly, but win it...It's just a question of when, when do we stop?"

We owe our veterans a debt that can never be repaid — only honored through our gratitude, respect, and commitment to never forget their sacrifice.
As a Member of Congress, one of my greatest honors is being able to recognize the sacrifices the men and women of our armed forces have made to our nation.
Congratulations to William Martin Miller for receiving this Purple Heart, the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, a 3 Bronze Star Vietnam Service Medal, a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, an Expert Badge, and a National Purple Heart Hall of Honor Certificate. On behalf of a grateful community and nation, thank you for your service.

Raising the Irish flag at City Hall is a reminder of Buffalo’s story, one that is written and built by generations of hardworking immigrants from Ireland and around the globe.
I am proud to celebrate the Irish heritage that shaped who I am and the values my family passed down through generations.

Great joining local leaders and neighbors for this year's Shamrock Shakin’ event! Proceeds help @rmhcwny provide a “home away from home” for families navigating medical crises. Last year, our community helped provide 266 nights of lodging and meals for those in need.
That’s the City of Good Neighbors at its best.

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Harriet Tubman, a prolific abolitionist, a tireless suffragist, and a courageous American hero.
After claiming her own emancipation, Tubman repeatedly risked her life and liberty to lead others to freedom as a legendary conductor on the Underground Railroad. Her fight didn't end there. She went on to serve as a scout, soldier, and spy for the Union Army, later dedicating her life to the suffrage movement to ensure that the "path to freedom" included the right to vote for all women.
Her sacrifice and bravery continue to inspire generations of Americans to carry that work forward.

The same thing was said about every generation of immigrants, from Catholics and Jews, to Irish and Italians, to Hispanics and Asians. It was wrong then, it’s wrong now.
White supremacy is the lie.

Happy International Women’s Day! Today we celebrate all of the strong, ambitious, and intelligent women around the world. From the halls of Congress, to working on site in Western New York, women are the pillars of our communities, workplaces, and families.
I would like to give a special shout out to my lovely wife Katie, our daughter, my mother Mary, and mother-in-law Jane today. Thank you for bringing so much joy into our lives.

Inspiring day walking in the footsteps of Congressman John Lewis, Dr Martin Luther King Jr, and the Freedom Fighters who successfully championed voting rights and civil rights in our country. Honored to join Reps. Terri Sewell, Shomari Figures, Yvette Clarke, and Steney Hoyer to commemorate the anniversary of Bloody Sunday 1965.
We must continue to carry the torch and protect the right to vote across our nation.

Happy National Nutrition Month! As an occupational therapist, I’ve seen how a balanced diet can change lives, from strengthening kids’ immune systems to helping seniors manage chronic illness.
But as grocery prices keep rising, healthy food is harder to afford. Families in our region now spend more than $1,100 a month on groceries.
I’ll keep fighting to build an economy that works for working families, not just the wealthy.
