HB 1734 and 1735, two bills to make NH the best state in America for experimental biotech, faced a chilly reception in NH Senate HHS yesterday despite: —Unanimous Republican support in the NH House; and —A crowd of cutting-edge biotech companies who came to the hearing and said they want to bring business to New Hampshire. Senators especially worried that the law would bring biohazards into the state. Montana and Florida have already enacted similar laws, and this hasn't caused biohazards or other catastrophes. Instead, it’s caused businesses and life-saving therapies to migrate to those states. If your senator is on Senate HHS, tell them New Hampshire should lead the emerging biotech revolution—not Montana or Florida. The federal regulatory system has failed, and America is about to miss the biotech revolution. It's time to stop American biotech from moving abroad, promote American competitiveness, and unleash Ultra New Hampshire.
