@riktheozfrog @SteveWoosnam @PaulMan70983272 @AlboMP that is excessive also they shouldn't get holidays on it? the NDIS explicitly says it can't be used for holiday.
People using it for that are using loopholes to rort the system.
What needs to be tackled is providers using loopholes and companies overpricing/price gouging.
English

@Ryulightorb @SteveWoosnam @PaulMan70983272 @AlboMP Well $900, for a bath chair or $600 for a walker is pretty excessive don't you think?
Not to mention holidays
Look IF someone needs assistance then I'm all for giving it to them
But I get really pissed off when the system gets rorted.
English

@riktheozfrog @SteveWoosnam @PaulMan70983272 @AlboMP ndis.gov.au/understanding/…
People getting stuff funded outside of that are rorting the system and are the actual issue.
But most of the costs of being disabled are outside of the NDIS.
English

@riktheozfrog @SteveWoosnam @PaulMan70983272 @AlboMP the only rent thing they do is SDA but you need EXTREME functional impairment (can't wipe your own ass or move your body) to get that.
Otherwise NDIS only covers
Core (support workers , transport)
Capital(home modifications for disability)
Capacity building (therapy)
English

@riktheozfrog @SteveWoosnam @PaulMan70983272 @AlboMP Without my parents I’d be homeless and unable to afford the medication to keep my body functioning.
Without the NDIS I wouldn’t have the supports to keep myself afloat and would likely have attempted again trying to survive in a society that hates Disabled people lol
English

@riktheozfrog @SteveWoosnam @PaulMan70983272 @AlboMP If you think the disability pension can cover all of that when it doesn’t even cover rent these days then…. You may not be up to date with how shit it is.
I can’t even save money, can’t work and I’m expected to pay for specialist endocrinologist appointments out of pocket.
English

@riktheozfrog @SteveWoosnam @PaulMan70983272 @AlboMP I’m plan managed I’m not entirely sure how much it costs I wouldn’t be able to manage that kinda thing.
I have shutdowns frequently and need occupational therapy and frequent Psychology sessions I’m not really in the state to manage that myself
English

@Ryulightorb @SteveWoosnam @PaulMan70983272 @AlboMP So how much does YOUR autism cost the taxpayer?
What "package" did your NDIS provider sign you up for?
English

@PaulMan70983272 @SteveWoosnam @riktheozfrog @AlboMP Sadly the community doesn’t really give support and my family can’t afford it.
English

@SteveWoosnam @PaulMan70983272 @riktheozfrog @AlboMP If you have some alternative then maybe i'd agree but some of us rely on it and society doesn't really give us any other options for those of us who require support what are we meant to do, just suffer and kill ourselves or some shit?
English

@SteveWoosnam @PaulMan70983272 @riktheozfrog @AlboMP ok so what should be done to support those who need supports? I have level 1 autism but can't work full time due to shutdowns and other autistic issues and require Mental health therapy (more than the free plans gives) and Occupational Therapy.
The NDIS has been a godsend.
English

@SteveWoosnam @PaulMan70983272 @riktheozfrog @meshygrey @AlboMP Yes ok so you think those that can’t work due to their disability and need supports shouldn’t get them.
So I wasn’t wrong in the first place lol.
English

@Ryulightorb @PaulMan70983272 @riktheozfrog @meshygrey @AlboMP I think all but the most severe cases need to be removed. Yes.
English

@SteveWoosnam @PaulMan70983272 @riktheozfrog @meshygrey @AlboMP So you don’t think Autism should be removed from it then if your saying nah.
Your wording is bad then imo
English

@SteveWoosnam @PaulMan70983272 @riktheozfrog @meshygrey @AlboMP You did with “all but the most serious cases of autism” autism is a fucking awful disability and supports are needed even on the lower end where it makes working impossible and you need some supports but not constant support.
English

@MooManTheGod @Obelis12 i have autism and don't have ADHD and can't stick to routines.
Professional diagnosis is important cause it's not that simple xD
English

@SteveWoosnam @PaulMan70983272 @riktheozfrog @meshygrey @AlboMP So those who need mental health help and struggle with their disability and can't work due to it should just suffer eh?
English

@PaulMan70983272 @riktheozfrog @meshygrey @AlboMP I agree the NDIS needs reforming and the removal of mental health and all but the most serious cases of autism.
And with that you've dropped about 500,000 participants and cut its costs by a 3/4.
