In 2013, I offered an amendment to end military aid to Egypt… they were in the middle of a coup! AIPAC and State Department urged House leadership to let it pass on a voice vote instead of having a recorded vote, so they could strip it from the final bill with no record.

‼️SCOTUS rules Monsanto/Bayer can’t be sued for omitting a warning even if their herbicides do cause cancer. Even if the legal reasoning of the court is sound in this case, it’s a blatant travesty of justice. Congress and the President can fix this and we absolutely should.

The Supreme Court on June 25 blocked thousands of lawsuits over the weed killer Roundup, ruling the manufacturer can’t be sued for failing to warn people that the popular product might cause cancer. The Environmental Protection Agency, which regulates pesticides, has not determined that Roundup poses a cancer risk and does not require a label saying it does. In a 7-2 decision, the justices said that means Roundup users who have developed cancer cannot sue by claiming the weed killer violates state laws about dangerous products.

For 2 years, 8 months, and 19 days, Israel has blocked the International Committee of the Red Cross from visiting Palestinian detainees held in Israeli torture prisons. Palestinian journalist Mujahid Bani Mufleh was detained by Israel without charge under its administrative detention policy in June 2025. He says he endured torture, starvation and prolonged medical neglect while imprisoned. Two days after his release in January 2026, Bani Mufleh suffered a severe brain hemorrhage linked to an illness he contracted in Israeli prison, rights groups say. He was hospitalized in critical condition and underwent multiple surgeries that left part of his skull removed and, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society, still faces a long and complex recovery. The group says his case reflects the systematic torture, abuse, and denial of medical care faced by Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons. The group calls it the “slow execution” of all prisoners.
