@CardiffCivicSoc So many issues with this decision. Namely the destruction of coastal habitat, alternative sites for housing not considered, no transport infrastructure (thousand new cars on Lavernock Road), collusion between Welsh Govt and Vale of Glamorgan council. JUDICIAL REVIEW IS NEEDED NOW

Concerns have been raised over traffic, agricultural land, coastal path and biodiversity, but the 567-home scheme promises 50% affordability, plus primary school, a public open space and other community facilities.

@CardiffCivicSoc Land was put up for sale with no planning permission granted, it's a complete stitch up (I wish some investigation is conducted by the press). No consideration of local objections. No transport infrastructure other than for cars. No consideration of loss of biodiversity. 🤬

@CardiffCivicSoc The Welsh Govt ignored a petition of over 5k people objecting to building on this greenfield land. It goes against the Welsh Govt environmental pledges. A stitch up between Welsh Govt and Vale of Glamorgan Council. If this is passed they will be held to account at the election.

Last Vale Cabinet before the break so we sneaked out for lunch at Jacks Cafe in Holton Road. Absolutely delicious and excellent value. I tried the Merry Muffin with braised red cabbage. #shoplocal

It would appear Vale of Glamorgan planning department are cowing down to developers and allowing them to walk all over their biodiversity policy. Community objections sidelined and not listened to.
