Today, General Sani Abacha, once presumed face of oppression, will be remembered as seemingly more democratic and more respectful of human rights than the so-called champions of activism from the NADECO days. This right here is gold. Do not bring children into this world if you can’t comfortably cater for them. I hated poverty, hated the fact that I couldn’t afford what my mates could. For example, In my last year at university my roommate was collecting 15k from his parents, my best friend was collecting 16k and I was collecting 4k per month. That was what my parents could give me, they were civil servants, they tried their best, but they can’t just do more. I made up my mind never to have kids I can’t give the best. Im in my late 30s and only have one child , which I think I can comfortably take care of. And I know that if my purse doesn’t get better I won’t have other kids till I die.
