First of all, if Abacha is the sitting President, all these nonsense that you guys are tweeting, AlMustapha would have arrested or assassinated all of you and that’s a known fact.

Kunle Ajibade was the Editor of The News magazine and he was sentenced to life for treason for publishing a story on the same coup during Abacha's reign. People were doing life in prison while Peter Obi was getting Port appointment from.the same dictator.

Yoruba people don’t care about you and your fake-ass opportunist pretenders trusting us or not. Take that trust that has never helped or elevated your own people and shove it up your under-hole. We are a wholesome nation on our own. We are immensely blessed with natural and human resources. We do not need your trust or love to excel. You are the ones who need us.

After Tinubu, people will no longer trust the Yoruba.

We have said it right from time, if you feel the need to drag Tinubu, drag him. Leave Yoruba as a tribe out of it. If you need to cuss him, do that, just leave the rest of us out of it. He’s the one that is your President, not me or other people. You have something to say to him, say it to him. You want to be a bigot, come out with your chest. Stop using Tinubu as an excuse.

@IU_Wakilii The fact that you tweeted this and you are still alive is proof that Tinubu is a saint. Ask your elders who were old enough during Abacha.

Chris Anyanwu was the publisher of The Sunday Magazine (TSM). she was sentenced to life imprisonment (later reduced) for her reporting on the 1995 "failed coup". She spent three years in prison. Abacha died in 1998. She was in prison when Obi accepted Abacha's appointment

This is Bagauda Kaltho Kaltho was an investigative journalist who paid the ultimate price in the struggle for Nigeria’s democracy because he aligned with NADECO’s desire for democracy. How did he die? Abacha used a letter bomb to kill him. In 1999, Gov Tinubu renamed the Lagos State Press Centre, Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre. Last year, in 2025 President Tinubu conferred the posthumous national honour Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on the late journalist. But Peter Obi thinks the Tyrant Abacha is more democratic than “so called NADECO activists”.

This is me assuming you asked a genuine question not out for a mischief. So I will humour you. Unfortunately, provision of security and welfare for people which is the primary responsibility of the government has been made unjustifiable under section 6(6)(c) of the constitution; because it falls under chapter 2 of the Constitution. The only way out of it is for the National Assembly to enact a law to make it justiciable so that the government can be sued for failing in its responsibilities.

This is Tunde Oladepo Bureau Chief of Alex Ibru’s Guardian Newspaper in Ogun State who covered politics. Murdered February 1998 in front of his wife and children by agents of Abacha’s govt for writing an article criticising traditional rulers who supported Abacha’s attempt to become a civilian President. But to Peter Obi, Abacha is a more of democrat than NADECO activists abi? Very good.

This Chief Alex Ibru In 1996, Abacha sent Al Mustapha and Sergeant Rogers to kill him. Sergeant Rogers shot him in the eye on top of the Falomo Bridge in Lagos. It happened on Friday, February 2, 1996, while on his way from the Federal Palace Hotel where he went for a board meeting, he was attacked. Sergeant Rogers walked up to Alex Ibru’s side of the Car, shot at him and Alex turned sideways. The bullet hit him in his left eye and his head shifted, that was how he lost his left eye. Luckily, the right eye was saved because of that shift. Alex was rushed to St. Nicholas Hospital. “Lo and behold, Rogers found his way to St. Nicholas hospital with his team but before then, we had already placed police people to provide security on all the stairs leading to Alex’s wardroom. They were not able to do anything," He was later rushed abroad in an air ambulance. He survived but lost an eye and two fingers. Why? Because Femi Falana facilitated the release of Turner Ogboru (the brother of the financier of the 1990 Gideon Okar coup) from prison and the AG & Alex Ibru as minister in charge of Prisons approved it. 16 years later He died. This is the Abacha Peter Obi is saying is democratic? Alright. 👍🏽

Why is ADC’s Gregory Peter Obi attacking a movement (NADECO) that fought to bring democracy back to Nigeria? Could it be any of these? 1. On the one hand, General David Mark, the Chairman of a faction of the ADC (ADC+), is famously reported by IBB’s close confidante Prof. Omo Omoruyi to have said that he will personally shoot the legal and constitutionally elected president of Nigeria, Chief MKO Abiola, in the head if he were sworn into office. According to Omoruyi, GDM said, “I’d shoot Chief Abiola the day NEC (National Electoral Commission) pronounces him the elected President!” This is the same GDM who allegedly had something famous to say about Nigerians and Phone ownership when he was Minister of Communications. The access to mobile phones many of us are using today is as a result of the fight organisations like NADECO fought to bring democracy back leading to OBJ’s election and subsequent deregulation of the telecoms space. Left to ADC’s David mark, it is not for the common man. 2. Peter Obi, on the other hand, was one of the primary beneficiaries of the Military Government, serving proudly in official roles whilst people like Ken Saro Wiwa, Anthony Enahoro, Kudirat Abiola, Shehu Yar'Adua, Godwin Agbroko, etc. were either killed or died in captivity, amongst others. The likes of President Bola Tinubu, Gov Uba Sani, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, Chris Anyanwu, Frank Kokori, General Alani Akinrinade amongst other notable persons who were arrested, hounded, charged with treason and/or sent into exile. I can understand why he would love the military dictatorship that killed people for speaking freely and exercising their constitutional rights. Now, to my point… Mr Gregory Obi and many of the key players have come under the banner of the ADC and can no longer hide their disdain for struggle for democracy or those who fought for it. I can safely bet that Mr Gregory Peter Obi’s ill-advised statement is one of many to come, as members of their political Assiciation of Diplaced Candidates remove whatever cloak of pretence they have around them. You have totally and completely lost your mind and this post of yours will go down in infamy as the most consequential one you ever made. What you have written today is way beyond politics and you have assaulted the senses and wounded the sensitivities of all those who lost their lives, liberty and loved ones during the struggle against fascism, dictatorship and military rule. To mock the memory of those that died fighting for democracy in the June 12th struggle and sacrificed their lives and liberty as members of NADECO in this way is unacceptable and unforgivable. Simply put it is despicable. The blood of all those that were killed by General Abacha and his goons, whom you served, shall speak against you for the rest of your life and their spirits shall haunt you from now till eternity. For this reason alone you stand accursed before the world, you shall NEVER become President of our nation and, as from today, your dwindling star shall be totally eclipsed and fade away until it is no more. God will perfect it and the blood of Jesus will seal it! (FFK)

Yesterday defenders of democracy, today's destroyers, What a shame. What an irony of history, that the acclaimed defenders of democracy and human rights who claimed to have fought for democracy during the era of General Sani Abacha now find themselves worse than the man they opposed. Today, General Sani Abacha, once presumed face of oppression, will be remembered as seemingly more democratic and more respectful of human rights than the so-called champions of activism from the NADECO days. Power indeed reveals character. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

The biggest problem that Mark & Aregbesola have is that THEY AREN’T QUALIFIED to hold national positions in ADC as per Article 9(4) of ADC’s 2022 constitution which was in effect when they took over the party! They reportedly cut that from the constitution AFTER they took over.
